Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Actually, no, Not at all. In fact, after a while, it begins to develop again for brief periods of time. Which is probably most of our researchers are arguably literally as old as dirt."

 

"That's certainly odd. Does it sort of self-repair itself then?" The doctor asks.

 

"Yes - again, not only does it self-repair, it grows."

 

Inside contains a small jewel, a folded blue piece of paper, and a folded white piece of paper with "VF" on the front.

 

"That's...interesting. Perhaps your brains contain some kind of ability similar to that found in a type of jellyfish. It has the ability to revert to a juvenile state whenever it wishes, technically making it completely immortal. Water guardians have been studying it for a long time to no avail." The doctor explains.

 

She opens the white piece of paper, setting the jewel aside.

 

"No, it has to do with our technology. The thing most other species can't believe about our technology, is what properties we can give things."
She holds the sleeve of her tattered robe.
"This robe? Even though it bends and feels like fabric, it's actually a forty-fold metal alloy."

 

"That's certainly interesting, though I personally wouldn't wish to delve into the depths of your technology when it can give brains such abilities. Postponing your death to near immortal lengths of time can be...problematic, in some cases." The doctor admits.

 

"I understand. However, I don't know the rules of this reality - in mine, pursuing agelessness is no crime in the high god's eyes."

 

"Our reality has much stronger governing forces, albeit less of them. We do have high gods, though their influence is mostly an extension of the 'highest' gods of our reality." The doctor explains.

 

"Interesting..."
Pause.
"If you don't mind me asking, how long have pirate crews hounded your people?"

 

"Not long, this is the first attack in...quite a while, actually." The doctor admits.

 

It's a note in pen, reading the following:
"Hey! I've got most of the stuff down for creating a storm of your caliber, albeit, I'm not sure if it works or how long it lasts. I can't replicate your power for an expirment. Anyways, I've put in the blueprints for the machine in the note. I've also put in a jewel to contact me, just fiddle with it a bit and it should open a portal to me soon enough. Just get to me soon, and prepare any questions.

"I guess that means some other legend drew them here."

She checks the blueprint, curious.

 

"Most likely. It's just unfortunate we've had to endure so many casualties in such a short amount of time." The doctor says, looking depressed.

 

"I... I'm sorry I desecrated the body of one of your people, by the way. Part of my curse is, I can't really bleed - I sort of turn into a strange crystal. I need to decay living things to decrystallize myself..."

 

It's exactly what's it's supposed to be, a blueprint depicting the machine Voidfiller's working on. The main part's a metal box with a cage, above that is a large thing labeled as a 'storing crystal', and above that is a cone-shaped object.
There's also a slime depicted to the side, labeled as a 'mirror slime'.

 

"That's fine, as long as their body was put to good use, and none was wasted." The doctor says.

 

She looks for any other details on the crystal or slime.

"Fully disintegrated." Mary admits.

 

"Well, if they were in assistance to you, that shouldn't matter too much." The doctor says.
