The Homestuck Ikimaru Cult [ Characters Available! ]

Honestly some of the 'cringey cosplayers' stuff I've seen when I've rarely skimmed through a cringe compilation are just young adults dressing up for halloween and other logical events, which is perfectly normal. Just because someone's cosplay isn't 100% accurate and they like to roleplay their character a bit with their friends (all of whom were probably having fun) doesn't mean it's especially cringey.

To be fair cringe compilations almost seem like they're designed to discourage people from making art, cosplaying or roleplaying with their friends, when nobodies going to be a brilliant artist at first, the most accurate cosplayer or even the best at being the character they are.

I don't see anything wrong or cringey about what they were doing. For one, it's walmart(?), and for two, they're just having fun roleplaying in cosplay. I probably couldn't do that myself.

So I've fallen into the homestuck trap, and I'd like to sign up to officially join the cult

Well, I suggest you learn about Aradia a lot more (Read through her wiki page and really get to know her character) before you choose her. As much as roleplay isn't an actual requirement, it always helps to know your character well, even moreso if you do decide to RP them.

 

I do know aradia pretty well, mostly because she's one of, if not my favourite character in the entire thing. And with all my reading of her wiki page, I feel that I really do understand the character

I dont know if should be happy or terrified. Everyone knows that his fanbase is not one of the best ones out these (altho he is a great guy) and i hope some of that doesnt taint ours.

 

I mean, how bad could it really be? I've personally been a fan of Markiplier for a long time, and even if we get a bunch of screaming tisty 11 year olds in the Hiveswap fandom, as many people have said before me, What Pumpkin and Hussie could really use the money. I mean, come on. Would you rather have a shiny clean fandom full of nice people but an unfinished game that never made it past Act 1 because it didn't get enough sales to make profit, or a slightly bad surface fandom but an entire pair of games that are finished to good quality?

The Homestuck fandom will always be untainted at it's core, the fans that are in it and returning to it will make sure of that. So what if a bunch of children flock in and start making shitty drawings and R34? Isn't the fandom already like that anyway (*cough* r/homesmut *cough*)? And besides, there'll be a split of fans that either:
A. Delve deeper into the Hiveswap fandom and read Homestuck and probably become better fans.
B. Exhaust themselves on Hiveswap alone and leave What Pumpkin with a bunch of money.

How do you expect the fandom to turn into the FNAF fandom when it is already there? (seriously I wasn't joking about the r/homesmut part)

 

Good points, but unfortunately there will be people that will call the game "bad" anyways because of the fanbase (look at Undertale). But yes, after all these years i'd appreciate a finished game.
And now that i think about it, all i have to do is avoid the YT comment section since 90% of the hate is there.
I was getting nervous because this is legit the best fandom i've ever been into (it's probably because i mostly stick around the good side, but still), and it would have bothered me to see it going downhill (even more than what it might already be).

 

You do realise the Homestuck fandom already has that bad name, right? (Have you seen the bucket spitting incident?)
