Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I just pick Muffy up and put her on my shoulder to save her the trouble.


"We've seen scarier things." Maria says.

 

"Huh. Commendable stuff."
Voidfiller compliments.

 

She checks your mind for anything troubling you, getting right up in your face.


"Okay, follow me. And fair warning, attempts at thievery will be punished by instant annihilation." Emerald says, heading down the hall.

"Thanks."
Pause.
"Anything else?"

 

"How much magic does that storm take?"

 

There seem to be a few invasive thoughts about the succubi, and some stressful ones about how to deal with Peridot, but most of my other thoughts seem to be about dinner and video games.


"We're not thieves." Jennifer says.

"Well, we're thieves of people's hearts." Maria says proudly.

"Metaphorically speaking. We're not like those other creatures that do it literally." Jennifer clarifies.

 

Muffy eats the thoughts about Succubi.


"Good."
Emerald stops at a pair of double doors bigger than the colloseum itself.
"Behind these doors is a goddess who... well, literally demands respect. Are you ready to meet her?"

"Let's just say, I can't rest when it's up."

 

I scratch my head, a little confused, before just taking a sip of tea.


The pair look at each other, before seeming to be ready, nodding.

 

"Ah come on. Like I said, she didn't know she was trespassing. Second, you guys attacked first."

 

Muffy looks around for the teapot.


Emerald opens the doors, a supermassive dragoness in painted armor laying inside, glancing over as the doors open.
"Oh, hello, little mortals!"

"...Is she an outsider or no?"

 

The teapot seems to be in the middle of the table, along with a small plate of biscuits.


The succubi kneel and bow to Xlentia, not looking directly at her.

 

Muffy jumps down and paws at the teapot.


"Oh, come on, I didn't get all prettied up just to not be looked at!" Xlentia laughs.

 

Praecantatia summons a small bowl and pours Muffy some tea.


"We mean no disrespect, goddess!" Jennifer says.

 

Muffy purrs, lapping it up.


"Oh, you're not on my bad side. Relax!" She says. "Come on, say hi, ask questions, go do things in my palace!"
Pause.
"...And stay out of the vault."

 

The tea seems to taste of changing flavours, a hint of magic to it keeping it unique.


The pair get up.

"We heard there were jobs available for us around here." Maria says.

"Project Chronoseum, I think was the name of it." Jennifer says.

"We used to be the commentators at the colosseum in hell. The crowds absolutely loved us!" Maria says.

 

"Technically, yes."

 

Muffy keeps drinking it, a bit confused but content nonetheless.


"Sure! Emerald can show you to your bunks, and you can make yourself at home. You'll be allowed to see the project in a week or so."

"...Okay. I can pardon her, then... I suppose."

 

"What's the pay like?" Jennifer asks.

 

"Are you intent on building something to keep it up?"

 

"Good, thank you."
Pause.
"I also met this other girl. She might want to come to the island to explore the forest."

 

"Pay? Well, usually allowing mortals use of my servant's services is enough... and not many people can say they serve the Divine Destroyer... but if you care to look behind me, you'll see that I'm more than capable of shelling out a little bit of gold."

"Another? Are you out of your mind?! How many people are you bringing back?"

"If I could find the magitech, I'd love to do that."
