If I were to simply run across, I'd be subject to two opportunity attacks, and I can't get across in one turn without dashing, which would mean I cannot disengage.

I like how right when I leave, a fight starts.. That's a great character to have out of the fight..

A few of these encounters were meant for you just to run away from, especially ones like this where the enemy can't chase you. Some don't involve fighting at all!

I used it once, it rated the encounter deadly, the party survived with only one death

I'm not panicking because I got a 20 on a stealth check to hide (not natural), and can just fly out of there next turn.
