Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Still not a scratch as he lets loose a shockwave to try and stun you a bit.

 

I try to dodge it, but end up getting hit slightly before I leap backwards.

 

He looses a barrage of handcannon blasts at you, stoic as always.

Muffy spits acid on the colloseum walls.

 

I try to deflect the blasts with Shadow Katanta.

The acid slides down the wall and pools at the bottom, the wall just looking a bit cleaner than it did before.

 

"The world sure is a nasty place, when I was still with my people crime was obsolete. It's such a shame what's happening in this world, it used to be so much better... huh, I'm sounding like one of those grandmas complaining how when they were children everything was way better, aren't I?"

 

You deflect most of them, but Peridot doesn't let the barrage let up as he draws closer, soon firing out of both hands.

Muffy pads at the wall, meowing at the skeletal figure.

"Hehee, you are. I reminisce as well..."

 

"Last time I was here I asked if I could see the storm goddess. I was told to come back later, so I do, and now I'm directed to you."

 

"Oh, yes. Go north... she's resting right now."

 

I start hitting the blasts back at Peridot, easily able to keep up with his rate of fire.

The skeletal figure doesn't seem to be able to notice Muffy, far too high up in the massive colosseum. A crowd member tosses down what looks like half of a strange looking fish toward Muffy.

 

"Uh,"
Voidfiller rotates, looking around.
"Which way's north?"

 

He blocks the shots with other shots, firing his entire fist at you.

Muffy tries to make the pile big enough to climb out of, spitting up a lit firework to get the figure's attention.

She points towards the barrier.
"Other side of the village."

 

I continue hitting the shots back, angling them to make them harder to block.


The figure doesn't pay Muffy any attention.

 

"Thanks."
Voidfiller nods, flying off as the ice disappears.

 

They don't do enough to mark his armor, either.
The fist knocks your blade back a bit, though.

Muffy keeps vying for attention, wanting out.

She just watches him fly off, confused.

 

I keep hitting them back, vigilant, before leaping over Peridot.


Muffy gets a few more scraps from the crowd and sympathetic looks, but nobody lets her out.

Eventually, the entrance gate opens slightly.

"Pst, cat." The incubus says, waving Muffy to him.

 

He makes his way north, looking around.

 

Another shockwave.


Muffy blinks over, curious.

There's a bubble underwater, deep below the surface.

 

Voidfiller dives under, growing gills, and swimming quite quickly towards the bubble.

 

I get knocked back, but stay on my feet.


The incubus gestures for Muffy to head through the gate.

 

A woman waits inside.
"Hello, Voidfiller."

More shockwaves.


Muffy runs through, looking up at the Incubus.
