Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Voidfiller makes a telepathic connection with it, briefly explaining the rules of solitaire, and stealthily manipulating cards along the way for example purposes.

 

The devil laughs, though it sounds rather evil.

"Ya think ya can stand a chance against Mortius? Hahaha! Yer a real riot!" The devil says, amused.

 

It just watches, its exhales occasionally blowing over a card.

"I've slain four hundred and thirty seven gods. What's one more?" Peridot asks. "Now, which way?"

 

"Just head through the gates and go northeast, hahaha." The devil says, laughing still as the gates creak open.

 

Peridot telepathically slams the devil into the ground forcefully as he continues on, unfazed.

 

The devil is just shunted downward a bit, Peridot's powers feeling weaker.

Stephanie looks a little weak as she follows Peridot. Various disgusting looking monsters roam about, tearing up humans, guardians and other beings in painful looking ways. A few odd looking creatures walk by, some appearing to be spiders which have lower halves that look distinctly like a spider's, eight legs included but their upper halves looking like human females. What looks like venom drips from one of the spiders mouths, the spider wiping it with a slightly clawed looking hand.

Cheering can be heard in the distance, and as Peridot gets closer, what looks like skinless children run by happily, racing each other as their equally skinless mother follows them, smiling.

 

Peridot follows the crowd, looking at his hand with some concern.

 

Bardock joins him, together they are humming.

 

Peridot feels a bit weaker, like hell itself is draining his energy and will.

"Hey, are you going to the colosseum too?" An odd creature asks Peridot as it walks beside him. It looks human at first glance, but it seems to have spiked crab-like claws instead of hands, suction cup like feet and rather strange looking eyes. Instead of having eyes in it's sockets, what looks like green tentacles protrude from them, it's eyes at the end of them.

 

Sgavrinn winds up getting distracted, and you soon notice another, smaller, island in the distance.

"Yes. I hope to slay the shadow, and this god."

Peridot adjusts his energy sources to go onto internal-only power and block any siphoning attempts, raising his guard.

 

"I don't think Mortius is fighting, is he?" The creature asks.

Peridot still feels weak regardless, strangely.

Stephanie ends up bumping into Peridot as she stumbles a bit, looking paler than normal.

 

"I didn't think so."
Pause.
"This makes little sense. This place should drain lifeforms of their life. Why... or how... does it drain that with no life?"

 

"Oh, I guess you must be new here. The stronger you are, the weaker you'll be in here if you're not a resident of hell. Heroes are zeroes I believe is the term they used." The creature explains.

"I can really feel it." Stephanie says, looking rather weak.

 

"Strange. I can distort the fabric of this realm without effort, yet I am invariably weak... perhaps I may leak my core to compensate."

 

"That's how things are down here." The creature says, shrugging.

The colosseum is now clearly visible in the distance, cheers of the audience beginning to drown out the screams of the damned.

"I hope Aj is alright." Stephanie says.

"You mean the Shadow? He's been slicing through opponents like nobodies business. Really helped get some of the scum out of here if you ask me." The creature says.

 

"It may take a little getting used to, but I figure I can make up for the downtime."

 

"H-hey! Wrong way."

 

Sgavrinn, confused, turns around and flies back towards the larger island.
He lets out a whimper, unsure.

 

"The Shadow sure did, most people thought he'd just lose in the first few fights, but he managed to fight through them and continue winning." The creature says.

 

Peridot glances back, seeing Muffy drag along Linoa.
"Wouldn't it be ironic if the damn cat was the one wrecking the most crap?"
