"But what if the lights are there as a challenge from whatever foe we need to face for the town."

 

"What do you mean?"

 

I begin writing on the piece of paper with usual handwriting:

"If there were any foes ahead of the right entrance, they would be able to see in the dark. There would be no point in being there unless they had enhanced eyesight. I still am curious as to what would be down there.. you decide."

 

"I mean it's almost odd that there are lights there in the first place. Especially with how the torch also was at the beginning of the stairs, marking the way. If the torches on the left path are of the same nature in that they mark the correct path, perhaps whatever foe there may be wants us to go that way. Perhaps because they are eager to fight us. On the other hand it could lead to a trap as well."

 

"Good point. I could still scout down the left passage."

Are there any areas of shadow in the left passage?

 

Writing on the piece of paper:
"Would you like to see something interesting?"

 

The left passage is lit well. There are no shadows limiting your vision.

Would the parts of my equipment that are galactic emitting very little light be OP?
The plume on top of my helmet, my cape, some parts of my mace.

I step away cautiously.

They are glow-in-the-dark in the same way as a glow-in-the-dark shirt: You can see them in pitch-blackness, but they aren't really emitting any light outwards. You'll be seen, but you can't see anything. It's kind of the opposite of OP.

 

I step into the right corridor, where it is pitch black.
My cape, helmet plume, and edges of my mace glow in the dark.

I step out again and write on paper:

"I can lead the way, but I will be able to be seen by foes."

 

"Wha- How does your stuff do that?"

 

Is that... Hetusol?

 

Huh.

 

Lazarus: "If you insist."

I draw my sword.

Note: If Kyovit tries to shock me, it will, in theory, hit my sword since metal conducts electricity. This will likely charge it and make it more deadly to him.

 

Kyovit is readying a massive ball of lightning above his head. The lights flicker, and his coat is somehow flapping around, despite there not technically being any wind in the room.

After peeking around a bit, you find yourself on the final floor of the tower. There isn't the usual collection of rooms here, just a giant set of doors. So far, you haven't seen any indestructible fucks. Was he the only one? On the left sleeve of your coat is a marking. You never paid much attention to it, but it's now definitely giving off heat. The same symbol is on the giant doors, and are now faintly glowing an electric blue.

 

I gesture towards the right corridor and begin walking into it.
