Generic Fantasy - [5/7]

Dez(thinking)"holy crap im alive! I need a drink after that one"
I search for a tavern to go get a drink

 

I slam my mace into it again, multiple times.

 

Lazarus: "At least the fighting stopped. Should we look for someone?"

 

As Leon slams his mace, I use War Scream against the beast, thoroughly obliterating its remains so it can't regenerate.

 

You head down the main street, turn left and speed towards the first tavern you see. Entering it, there's a rather jolly mood going around. People are drinking, smoking, talking, the works.
There are some guys in bandages at a table, others hold groups of adventuring folk.

Vesuia: "It's just odd, to me. This place should have more activity. There were dozens of mages here, last I heard."

You look around the first floor rooms for a while. Nothing but studies, emptied. You're about to go up the stairs when you're greeted by a voice behind you.

"What do we have here...?"

Your combo deals devastating damage to the bear, mauling it and then shouting it apart before it can heal. The sheer amount of blood coming out is ridiculous. You're drenched in it.
You have slain [Bear-Like Abomination]!

 

I wipe the blood off my maul, gesture towards the road again, and continue on it.

 

I quickly whip around to look behind me, with my hand on my sword hilt.

Lazarus: "Who's there?"

 

Dez(thinking):"looks like im not the only one having a rough day. Maybe I should see know anything about the cult,but drinks first"
I go to the bartender asking for a beer after I get a bit drunk from only one mug I go to the injured adventurers and ask
Dez:"rough day huh?"

 

We continue on.

 

The forest is getting darker and darker. For some reason, you are not attacked by anything else along the way. After almost 20 minutes of continuous walking, the path stops at a clearing with a ruin of a humanoid statue in the center.

There's a man in a strange red cloak standing behind you in the hall. His eyes are solid blue with white pupils, and he has his hands outstretched. Electricity zaps around him in small shocks of lightning.
"I am Kyovit, Mage of Thunder, and you will not live to climb those stairs."

One of the adventurers is a large, muscular man. The other has a smaller and slimmer build, with a coat over his bandages. A mage, perhaps?

Adventurer 1 [The Warrior]: "Rough day? You've got no idea. We've been mauled 10 times over."
Adventurer 2 [The Mage]: "There's a reason they call the place the Bloodwood. the horrors in that place bleed like no tomorrow. The worst part, though, is if that blood gets into your system. The infection might just kill you."
Adventurer 1: "Only reason it didn't off me was because i had armor on over my injuries."

 

I check around the ruins for any sign of what may be causing these amalgamates to appear.

 

I keep watch as Leon examines the ruins.

 

Same.

 

Leon pokes around the ruin of the statue. It seems to be normal, but then he accidentally leans on and presses a button on its foot. In front of the statue, a block of stone scrapes open. There are stairs leading downwards.

 

"I'd guess we should head down that way."

 

I gesture towards the new secret entrance and begin cautiously walking down the steps.

 

I go down, sword drawn, and watch carefully for hostile creatures.

 

I follow.

 

It's a small stairway, so you have to go in single file. Eventually, after what seems like ages of walking, you arrive in a small, circular room with two exits, one to the left and the other to the right. The room itself is made out of an ancient stone, with a single torch above the stairwell entrance. It's a very damp and warm room, and you can hear watter dripping from various locations further down the halls. There are fanciful spiral patterns etched into the rock. The rock itself is oddly not made of carved bricks. If it wasn't for the spiral engravings, they would be smooth stone. The path on the left is well lit, and it goes on for about 30 feet before it turns to the right. The hall on the right is pitch black after the first three or so feet, the darkness being almost unnatural.

 

"The way to the right looks dangerous, but it would be easy cover for me to sneak in, if there are any enemies there."
