Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Shadow Stephanie blushes, nodding happily.


"I guess." Stephanie says, only half paying attention as she scans through pages of information about souls and their characteristics.

 

"But, you have to promise me that you'll be honest with me from hereon out."


Linoa takes a peek at Stephanie's tome.

 

"...I shall be." Shadow Stephanie says, nodding.


The tome seems to be detailing the differences between the heart, soul and body after death, and how they're affected based on the removal of each, one part referring the reader to a chapter on the shells left behind after a heart is stolen or corrupted.

 

Sivius gives her a kiss before waving and vanishing.


Linoa takes as many mental notes as she can, trying to see if she can follow Stephanie's train of thought.

 

Shadow Stephanie smiles widely, cheerily skipping back through a portal to the Shadow Realm, the portal swiftly shutting after her.


Stephanie briefly flips to the chapter on beings created when a heart is stolen, odd white and grey creatures depicted on some of the pages, before Stephanie flips back to the chapter on souls, skimming through the pages.

 

-Meanwhile...-
There's a knock at the door of Katie's house.


Linoa keeps watching, trying to follow where Stephanie's eyes are focused on the page.

 

Nobody answers the door, the house seemingly empty. The doors seem rather tightly shut, however, probably to prevent any intruders who manage to make it down to her house in the first place.


Stephanie's eyes dart across each page before she turns it, Stephanie looking stressed.

Stephanie flips through her tome before she reaches a chapter on hell, skimming through that instead.

 

Something splashes into the water, checking the docks nearby.


Linoa keeps silent, not wanting to make the situation worse.

 

There don't appear to be any docks within close range of Katie's house, just a large beach hidden by an overhanging cliff.

There do appear to be some docks much further away from Katie's home, however, sailboats resting in them as a few humans walk about, some fishing.


Stephanie eventually closes her tome, grabbing her glass of orange juice seated on a coaster near to her plate and drinking it, looking at nothing in particular.

 

The thing remains in the water, soon heading into the open ocean.
On Aquira's map, it appears as an unidentifiable splotch.


Linoa looks at her, a bit worried.
"...Maybe your mother can offer a little insight?"

 

Aquira studies the map closely, confused.


"Well, I guess I could go see her. She did tell Aj about Mortius and Abigail's soul." Stephanie says, finishing her orange juice and looking at her ring.

 

Crystal whispers to Linoa.
"Who's Stephanie's mom?"

 

Whatever it is, it stops in the middle of seemingly nowhere, and remains there.


"Sounds like then she at least has an idea for a course of action, then."

"She's a demigod. Her mom is a god of magic."

 

"Oh. Cool!"

 

Aquira keeps an eye on it, passing the news to her crew.


"Yeah..." Stephanie says, thinking for a bit before offering her right hand to Linoa.

 

"Indeed."

It hardly moves, but it slowly sinks to the ocean floor after a while.


"...Can Crystal come too?" She asks, hesitating.

 

A water guardian from Aquira's crew swims over to it to investigate it, riding the water currents to get to it faster.


"Sure." Stephanie says, smiling.

 

"Woo!"
Crystal smiles from behind Linoa.

 

Stephanie giggles slightly.

 

Upon arrival, it seems to be surrounded in a cloud of pollutants, but they're not spreading much at all - in fact, it looks controlled, if anything.


Linoa reaches her hand out to Crystal (@Enhanced_Human ) as she takes Stephanie's.
