Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Then why did you even ask?"

 

"I just don't remember him dying." Shadow Stephanie says, shrugging.

 

"You don't count the number of relevant people you've killed?"


Ruby, stretching, looks around the lab for an exit.

 

"No, I just remember Vesius being a person, then he sort of disappeared and we never heard from him again." Shadow Stephanie says, shrugging.


There's a metal door at the far end of the lab, a panel and keypad next to it.

 

"That's pretty much what happened."


"Can I leave now?" She says, raising her voice to ensure the entire lab can hear her.

 

"Huh. It's a shame, really. I liked him." Shadow Stephanie says.


Most of the lab ignores her, busy, but a Shadow abandons his workstation and opens the door for Ruby, gesturing for her to go through.

 

"I didn't even know you met him."


"Thanks." She says, as she heads through and scans the area for a way out of the palace.

 

"She's also a giant dragon goddess."

 

"Yeah, sure."
He hands her the staff.
"Here you go."

 

"Maybe I'm getting confused." Shadow Stephanie says, shrugging.


There's an elevator which could take Ruby anywhere, though there's also a doorway to a hallway next to it.

 

"Who also is wearing painted armor."

"I thought you only met Ihra."


Ruby takes the doorway, keeping an eye on any guards that wind up watching her.

She takes it, and blood starts running out of her claws.
"Well, it's going to be a while. Maybe you can go meet a few dragons in the mountains?"

 

"Honestly so much has happened I don't even know anymore." Shadow Stephanie admits.


There don't appear to be many guards about, only a few patrolling the hallways.

"Madam." One of the guards Ruby passes says respectfully, tipping his helmet to her.

 

"Yeah, sure. Send Sgavrinn over when you're done."
Bardock walks off and waves.
"I'll be going then."

 

"That's why you have Emerald, right?"


Ruby nods and smiles as she goes, partially exploring but mostly looking for a way out.

"Will do. Don't piss any of them off."

As you walk down into the valley, caves line the mountains.

 

"Oh yeah, that's a good point." Shadow Stephanie says.


Ruby comes across a couple of staircases, one going down and the other going up.

 

"Ah yeah, the caves."
Bardock looks at the caves.
"Now, which one to choose?"

 

Crystal smiles.
"Yeah."

 

"Walking libraries do a good job remembering."


Ruby splits her body, one going up and one going down.

"She probably just needs a little counseling, and someone to call her own." She shrugs.
"Well... no time like the present. Shall we head to the Shadow Palace?"

There are three in sight with light of some kind coming from inside, though every cave looks like it belongs to a creature.

 

"That one."
Bardock walks towards the middle/2nd cave.

 

"That can be a problem in some cases." Shadow Stephanie says.


Both staircases lead into hallways, though there appear to be a few more guards on the lower level and a few more official looking Shadows about on the upper.
