Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Yes, coming. Let me just..."
Bardock pushes himself through the crowd.
"Almost there."
He arrives at the receptionist's desk.
"Made it."

 

"Hi, sir. Are you new here?" She asks.

 

"I am. Is it always this crowded?"

 

"This is the quiet season, so yes. First admission's free, so enjoy yourself!"

 

"So what exactly is going on inside this arena? Never been here before, like you said."

 

"Sports. Pretty much of all kinds."

 

"Cool, thanks. I'll be sure to watch some."
Bardock decided to watch a match that is currently playing.

 

Stephanie tries telekintically lifting herself up.


I keep digging, shrugging.

 

She can't, but she can reduce her weight slightly, it seems.


They keep digging as well, tearing into you.
"I advise you remove yourself from the third dimension once again." The same voice echoes in your head.

You've got a full list of events going on;
Fencing, 100m hurdles, long jump, water polo, tennis, and handball seem to all be going on at the moment.

 

"Huh. Fencing."
Bardock goes and watch a match of fencing.

 

Stephanie does so, running up the stairs again.


I flatten myself against the ground again, sliding off.

 

She can see the creeps this time, a few minutes off.
She does exhaust herself, but she gets three quarters of the way up before the creeps even get near the base of the temple.


After a few minutes, the creeps scatter once again.
"Hey, take a look at the wall. You've got the fort there, and the gate's open. Hopefully you won't need the ladder, if you're not gonna try and go get it again."

It's a fairly one sided match, unfortunately, and you only caught the last few matches.

Table tennis seems to be up next, considering all the tables are being set up.

 

"Guess I'll watch this. Hope it's not too boring."
Bardock watches the table tennis match.

 

Stephanie takes a short break before powering onward, determined.


I slide up the wall, albeit the process taking a bit longer than sliding down, before poking my head out and looking around.

 

Same trapdoor up top...


No fort, but the ledge is back, and the ladder's still sitting on top of the wall.
"Just giving you ideas. If it's the only other thing there than the gate opening thing, I'd think it would be relevant."

It winds up being rather exciting - and the crowd getting into it.
By the end of the set, it's being played too fast to follow.
...This goes on for a good half hour, but the speed and precision are almost entrancing to watch.

 

Stephanie looks down through the trapdoor to see if there's any walls around it.


I look at the scratches on the wall again, curious.

 

"Yeah!"
Bardock cheers together with the crowd.

 

It's closed for now, but once she touches it, it seems to be a straight drop into the water below.


The only ones noticeable are the single scratch, and the ones you've made.
"Okay, I'm sick of dancing around it. If climbing up and down the outside of the wall makes the fort appear or disappear, then you're probably dealing with two phases. If you can bring me between phases, then you can bring the ladder."
Pause.
"Or you could just enter the fort. Well... once you make it appear again."

Before you know it, the table tennis games are over and they're setting up for badminton.
Only three athletes show up this time, though...

 

Stephanie tries strengthening her telekinesis so she falls slower, jumping to test.


"Fort?" I ask.

 

"One against two? That's not fair."
