Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I just don't know how you'd be here. Considering everything this realm has thrown at me, I'd even go to say you're just an illusion to give me a false sense of security before backstabbing me." Stephanie says, suspicious, "Or maybe I'm the illusion here, and by saying this I'm making you think I'm not an illusion at all."


I decide to start gathering up the dirt from the explosions, putting it into a pile.

 

She pouts, before sighing.
"Well, you got me. Of course, if you want the relic, you'll have to beat me for it."
The old familiar click of her staff turning into an axe brings back memories... but now is not the time for reminiscing.


You've... filled the hole in.

Ragnyon and Sgavrinn walk away, leaving you on your own.

 

"So...? Now what?"
Bardock looks at the sky, to see what time it is.

 

Stephanie just stands where she is, seeming to just focus on breathing.


I look at the hole, then back to where I was piling my dirt, confused.

 

Roughly noon.

"I am Iris, the Shatter of Innocence... and I cannot permit you to revive my successor." She says, a fireball forming in her claw.


There's... still the dirt mound. But, the hole is filled in.

 

"You really think a puny fireball like that is going to hurt me?" Stephanie asks, before laughing, "Go on, go on, show me another attack! You're hilarious!"

"'I cannot permit you to revive my successor'," Stephanie continues, mocking Iris' voice and laughing, "I'm sorry Mrs. Edgelord, I'll just, hahaha, see myself out!"


I decide to take some dirt from the dirt mound, compacting it into a perfect 1 metre by 1 metre by 1 metre cube, before grabbing more dirt and making more cubes, eventually stacking the cubes on top of each other to make a little cubic hut.

 

"Hmm. Still got some time left before heading to the mountains."
Bardock heads towards the place where he first saw the town.

 

Iris smiles the same, sweet smile Ihra does as she dispells the fireball.
...As she raises her hand, the creatures from the horde begin to rise around her.
"I will keep you down, and when I'm done with you here, I'll kill you... and your mother, if she tries to play hero!" She shouts.
Looks like it's time to fight.


The dirt won't stay in cube form.

It's still there.

 

Stephanie just laughs more.

"You really think you're being the slightest be scary or villainous right now?" Stephanie asks, laughing before turning serious, "No no no, go home. Seriously. Fuck off home and come back when you're actually scary. Go on. Scoot. I want you out of my sight."


I seem rather depressed, sitting by the dirt pile and digging through it instead.

 

"Maybe I could spend my time there?"
Bardock heads towards the entrance of the town.

 

Iris scoffs, then just walks up to the artifact, takes it, and sticks her tongue out.
"Bet this won't help with your timing." She says, as Stephanie suddenly comes-to back in Maralune.


The creeps are back again, helping you tear it down.

The guards stop you.
"Good afternoon! Can I get your name and why you're coming in today?"

 

"Bardock. And I'm just here to spend the day."

 

"Welcome to out city, Bardock! If you need a map, check any billboard, and if you're looking for entertainment, head to the sports arena in the center of town."

 

"Thank you. I will."
Bardock enters the city and looks around, searching for a billboard with a map.

 

The first one is on a light pole, showing that Bardock is in the middle of a bunch of inns and bars.

 

"Just some bars, huh? I'll look around for that arena they told me about."
Bardock searches for a map with anything about the arena on it.

 

There's a huge complex in the middle of the city labeled "Sports Arena/Venue."

 

"Found it. That must be the arena."
Bardock heads towards the arena.

 

Stephanie takes the bottle of blood, still containing about half of it's contents, and prepares to pour it back over her tome, before pausing for a moment and summoning her crystal helmet, putting it on and pouring some more blood over the tome's eye, gazing into it again.


"Excuse me, can you communicate?" I ask the creeps as I dig through the dirt.

 

She appears back at the foot of the temple...
...without her helmet.


No response, just a few claws poking into you as they dig.

The building is bigger than most castles, but once you enter, it's insanely crowded.

A receptionist waves you over.
