Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Stephanie opens her eyes, coughing up any water in her lungs and looking around.


I use my trusty attack ladder to wap the creeps off of the wall.

 

She's underwater, her coughing instead expelling the last bit of air she had.
From above, she can see the dark creeps walking on the edge of the water, marching ever towards Stephanie as a grey orb sits anchored to the bottom of the... wherever she is... nearby.
Gravity seems to affect her normally.


You can swat them off one side, but you can't hit through the lip, and they start covering every bit of the wall you're not on.
Shadow Katana would be really nice right now.

"Draconians... and a goddess."

 

"A goddess? Ragnyon, you are full of surprises, aren't you?"

 

Stephanie walks over to the grey orb, feeling her skin to see if she's warm or cold.


I put down my ladder, changing my legs into sharp, dark blades and spinning around using my hands, trying to slice as many creeps as possible.

 

Her skin is cold and pale.
The orb sits there, though somewhere deep inside, she has a feeling that what she is looking for is nearby.
...but not this orb.


It seems the ladder is far more resilient than the creatures; however, you start to tire after a few minutes, and you feel you haven't made much progress towards the artifact.

"What, have you lived on the same planet your entire life?" She chuckles.

 

"Uhm.. Yeah? Haven't you?"

 

Stephanie sighs, depressed, beginning to cry as she sits down next to the grey orb and tries to interact with it.


I just keep fighting the creeps, waiting for them to drop something useful.

 

The Terraes continue to shuffle around, some getting into stance or teleporting into the air.

 

"The library is quite the way away, I can take you there if you want. Also, mind the gaps, time has not been kind to this place." I say.

 

She pauses.
"...Not at all."

She gets ready to fire, but at the last second, points her bow at the very top of the dome and fires, a seemingly endless hail of arrows falling from above as she nocks another arrow.

It pulses with power, slowly returning color to Stephanie's skin.


None of them drop anything.
You wind up getting scratched, and for some reason, you get cut - and bleed.

"Please do." She nods.

 

"So you know a goddess, can see in the future and you can travel to different planets?"

 

Stephanie, surprised, grabs onto the orb.


I grab one of the creeps and start spinning around with it, spinning into the other creeps to use the creep as a weapon.

 

"Yes." She nods. "Such is the ability of my kind."

She slowly begins feeling refreshed, but the orb's power soon dwindles.
However, Stephanie sees another figure with another grey orb in the distance, and a much more colorful orb between her and the figure.


That doesn't even work as well as the ladder.
Maybe it's time to start using Vei's tome...

 

"Hello?" Stephanie attempts to say.


I take out Vei's tome and start hitting the creeps with it angrily.

 

Despite underwater, she is able to easily.
They pause, looking straight at her.
"You here for the relic too?!" They shout.


Her tome seems more resilient than you, as the creeps start to overwhelm you.
"Open the tome, dumbass." An inner voice sighs.

 

"I'm slightly jealous. For I can only transform into a scary beast."

 

"If you consider a dragon a scary beast, we can too."
Pause.
"How much do you trust me?"

 

Stephanie realises it probably wasn't the best idea to reveal her presence, deciding to turn and run from the figure.


I try flattening myself against the ground as a literal shadow, losing my ability to interact with the physical world while gaining the ability to not be interacted with outside of direct light.

 

There's two things to run towards; the figure, or the horde.


You succeed, and after a few minutes, the creeps are no longer on the wall.
Maybe you should stay this way for a bit longer...

 

"More than average. You haven't attacked me, offered me food, lend me your dragon to find the vixen, told me about your powers. So yeah, I trust you."
