Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I'll take dark, for the sake of like elements." I say, picking up the dark tome.

 

Rineth nods.
"Good luck you two. Don't... well, fail."

 

Artemis hands Stephanie and I a tome, and I give Stephanie one of the bottles of blood.

"Are we meant to pour the blood on the tome?" Stephanie asks, looking at Rineth.

 

Pour the blood over the eye, and stare into its gaze. I suggest doing it on the ground, because you'll pass out - and flopping on your face is humorous but not exactly beneficial to health."

 

Stephanie and I sit down opposite each other, before simultaneously pouring our bottles of blood on the tome's eyes and looking into them.

 

"Stay safe, you two."
I say as you do this.

 

You both seem to be pulled in, vision collapsing upon the eye, until it is all you see...

A minute later, Artemis can see the both of you slump over.
"Be on guard. They... obviously... can't defend themselves like this."


Stephanie wakes to a grassy field. However, everything around it is pitch black.


You wake to an abandoned fort, clouds giving off strange grey light. Vei's tome sits at your feet, but Shadow Katana is nowhere to be found.
Everything out of reach is obscured by an uncooperative darkness.

 

Artemis draws her bow, nocking an arrow and looking around.


Stephanie tries creating a ball of light to see.


I pull the hood of my cloak over tighter, picking up the tome and heading toward the fort.

 

Nobody else is around, hold raptors, Angela, and Rineth.


The ball of light pushes the darkness back, but not by much.
It also seems to obscure Stephanie's peripheral vision by making it too bright to see any detail.


The fort entry is shut, and you can't even see over the wall; everything out of arm's reach is obscured.
Now might be a good time to see what the tome can do.

 

Stephanie throws the ball into the darkness, seeing what happens.


I breathe in for a moment before kicking the fort entry with incredible force.

 

It's stuck to her hand, but its energy whips out and back a bit like a blade.


It does nothing for you. However, a blue crack shoots across your vision for a brief moment.

 

Stephanie just walks into the darkness, using the light as she can.


I try kicking the entry again.

 

"Talking about me and the vixen or me and Sgavrinn?"

 

The path behind her stays luminated for a minute before fading back to darkness...

She eventually stumbles across a wall of some sort.


A bigger crack flashes across your vision, but this time, blue fractures are visible in your peripheral vision.

"Vixen and you. Sgavrinn has problems not getting along with people."

 

Stephanie tries climbing up the wall.


I jump up, before continually kicking the entry as hard as I can in the air.

 

She gets halfway up, but there aren't any good holds from thereon out.


The cracks eventually start splitting your vision, and the entry hasn't budged.

 

Stephanie focuses her magic and tries to slowly lift herself up the rest of the wall, scrambling up it to try and assist herself.


I stop kicking the entry, deciding to take a short walk back before running up the entry and running up it, leaping as soon as I start to slow down to try and get above it.

 

"Yeah, we don't get along well. Maybe some 'Hunter and Prey' thing."

 

She can't levitate herself, but it doesn't affect her negatively.


The cracks slowly start to fade, but running up the wall barely works.
...except there's no fort on the other side?

"That would... explain a lot."

 

Stephanie just tries launching herself up the wall and reaching her hands out toward the top, trying to grab on.


I walk around the side of the fort, confused.
