Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Alright... well, I think you know the rest. Pick two people, and hope they don't mess up."

 

"Didn't Praecantatia say she'd bring Stephanie here when we had everything?" Artemis asks.

"Yeah, maybe we should wait for a bit," I say, "If the Goddess of Magic is Stephanie's mother, I think she'd be more psychically able than most of us."

 

"I hope you realize that each person will be completely cut off from everything else." Rineth says. "My wife's done this crap before."

 

"Well, I think Artemis would be the good secondary person to do it." I say, patting Artemis on the back.

"Me? Why not you? You're the super powerful Shadow here." Artemis says.

"Your mind is in touch with nature and Gaia and animals and stuff. I'm pretty sure if I did this my dark memories would come to life to haunt me." I say.

Artemis sighs.

 

"Linoa said physical strength is useless in there. You either adapt to the oddrealm's rules, or you're consumed by it. Nothing works the way it should, and she said she thinks it's like a boot camp of sorts for eldritch users."

 

"Didn't you tell me about some pretty horrible training regime when you were preparing for the war between your realm and the light realm?" Artemis asks.

"Sensei's training, you mean? I guess if it's an eldritch boot camp I'd be more used to it." I say, thinking.

 

"Well, take your pick. I-"
Rineth pauses.
"...Okay. Emerald said if you send someone other than Stephanie, she's got a few options for whoever goes in."

 

"Like?" I ask.

 

Rineth summons seven familiar tomes.
"Any not-Stephanie should be able to take one of Vei's tomes in, if Emerald isn't messing with us."

 

"I'd ask for one of those but I'm pretty sure Vei's spirit would make them backfire on me." I say.

A bright circle of light appears from the sky, disappearing soon after it appears and revealing Stephanie, smiling.

"Hey guys." Stephanie says happily, walking over to the group.

 

"Hey."
I greet, smiling.

 

Rineth waves.
"She didn't seem angry in her final moments. If she hated you, she wouldn't have entrusted Ihra to you." He says to you.

 

Stephanie smiles happily back at you.

"Just talking from prior experiences." I say, shrugging.

 

"You just don't want to go in, do you..." Rineth accuses, with a tinge of sarcasm in his voice.

 

"No, I'm just worried for my safety in there using a tome that doesn't belong to me." I say.

"I'm ready to go in when you are." Stephanie says, looking at me.

 

Rineth chuckles.
"So, who else is it gonna be? You've got one..."

 

"I said it would be me. I'm prepared for mental challenges." I say, crossing my arms.

 

"Well, pick a tome." He repeats, laying them out in front if you. "I'd assume you'd use the dark tome, but I never know with you."

 

"So is this mystery tome time?" I ask, surveying the tomes.

 

"Mostly. You've got light, dark, fire, water, earth, thunder, and wind. Emerald said you're gonna need it, which I find moderately concerning."
