Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"She was kind of freaky." I say.

 

I shrug.
"She had a tracking chip in her tail to the Hive Master, so we were curious if he would take her back. He didn't."

 

"Did you remove it?" Artemis asks.

 

"Emerald's taking care of it now. Speaking of which, she doesn't want you to use your present on her, Aj."

 

"The present's been sort of a burden. It's like if Artemis was dead and having to choose between whether or not I bring Artemis back to life or like, get three wishes but they can't be to bring Artemis back to life," I say, frustrated, "But like, multiplied with a lot of dead Artemis'!"

 

"I can imagine."
Pause.
"Have you met Diamond?"

 

"Diamond?" I ask, "Don't think so."

 

"Well, before making a choice, I recommend you meet all of them."

 

"What's Diamond like?" I ask.

 

"Well, to quote Emerald, 'she's blind, and her scream tears at the souls of everyone in front of her'."

 

"Oh, how lovely." I say.

 

"I didn't know it was their territory. I live here and tried to go meet my relatives in the kitsune village. You know, since I killed the others."

"What do you mean, where'd everyone go?"

 

"I know. Sounds like someone who has a fun time living."
I say sarcastically.

 

"Well, it's just Katie and I here. Artemis, Shadow Stephanie and Shadow Aj are gone." Angela says sadly.

"Being headless seems a little worse." Artemis comments.

 

"I'm not sure."

 

"Emphasis on 'seems'. In my perspective, it depends on how much Diamond screams."

 

Katie creates a large spike of ice which buries itself into the ground, drilling out a tunnel which Katie fills with water before diving into, swimming down and creating an underground flooded tunnel to explore with.

"Can she communicate telepathically?" Artemis asks.

 

"Don't know. All I know about her is the quote I told you and that she's in the desert of the world Amethyst was waiting in to see if the Hive Master would take her."

 

"That's kind of sad you know. She must have a cruel existence, and not even the Hive Master will take her back," I say, shaking my head, "And I thought he was a nice guy."

"He's literally trying to enslave everyone under mind control for his own personal gain, Aj. Why do you think him allowing you to remove the curse on someone and passing a ceasefire would make him redeemable in any way." Artemis says flatly.

 

"His gift could be partially a ploy, as well. You seem to be getting agitated about your choice, anyone would, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Hive Master predicted this."
