The girl talks. "To feed my family and get away from the nuisances of humanity. Evidently the last part didn't work." She continues to climb up the stairs.

You continue up the stairs. On the next floor, the floor is rotten wood, and there's a table and a chair over in the corner. The staircase continues further upward, but it gets even more dilapidated from here.

I say to myself
"Well guess in this world family's all you got left" and I start investigating for any signs of life

 

I attempt to continue climbing, though placing my steps carefully on the ancient wood.

 

I turn to run and head towards my shop

The girl continues to climb up the stairs. Aside from her, you can see that the tower is well-mantained. It must have been repaired recently. A plank crashes down from above.

As you place your foot down on a step, the plank crashes down and snaps. Agility to stay on:
10 + 8 Agility = 18
You manage to regain your footing and make it safely to the second floor.

Agility Roll: 6 + 2 = 8
You dash into the door to your shop, but hit the door and stumble a bit. The Ethidian fires his pistol at you.
Attack Roll: 7 + 6 Agility = 13
Defense Roll: 1 + 2 = 3
The shot hits you in the head (Lose 15 Life), and the Ethidian begins to reload. The Mutant tears the door off its hinges and roars. Inside your shop, you see your forge and stuff. It's a smallish room, and the only exits are a small staircase up and two doors (the main door and another).
A. Attack the Mutant
B. Attack the Ethidian
C. Run further in

As a natural instinc I look up

 

The girl misstepped a little, but she seems to have regained her balance.

I look around the room.

 

On this floor, the floor is rotten wood, and there's a table and a chair over in the corner. On the table is a book, and an unlit torch hangs off the wall. There is also a torn sheet on the floor. The staircase continues further upward, but it gets even more dilapidated from here.

I look to examine the book.

 

I leave and look where the goblins went

As you go towards the exit, a cloaked figure walks around the corner. He looks at you. "Do you wish to be a disciple? Or do you simply have now value for your life?"
A. Attack the Figure

I attempt to open the book and read it.

 

I draw my sword and put it to his face and yell out "who are you" (trying to intimidate)

The book lists several Goblins and information about them. For example, it lists the hound you saw before.

The cloaked man laughs. "I am the lord of this tower... no, this world... I am the Angel of Death!" He steps back.

Can I hear that laughing at all?

Intrigued, I try to read the hounds entry, and skim any other ones that look interesting.

 

"So you're the hotshot I've been hearing about"

You can faintly hear it.
It provides information about the hound, although it's hard to read. "wyrm... acid spit... thirty... five feet... hands for skin..."
Another interesting-looking one is what appears to be a non-euclidian glass orb with cannons poking out of it. The notes on it seem to be much more partial. "dangerous... devil... cannon..."

I close the book and go to start scaling another floor of the tower.
