Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Death means nothing to them, I wouldn't worry."

This deep into the ruins, you can barely see the one way out-and into-the cavern, nonetheless anyone coming in.

You hear a few more steps.

 

"Tenebrae is quite protective of her royals. I guess she sort of sees them as her own little children, moreso than she groups Shadows as a whole." Praecantatia says.

 

"I mean, anyone in the group. If your daughter was killed trying to get this relic, you'd see her alive and well by tomorrow."

 

"I'd try my best to do that, however long it might take." Praecantatia says.

 

I prick up my ears and listen for a moment, there was definitely someone there, I couldn't be having delusions, could I? I lay my book upon the rock and decide to investigate.

 

"With the information we have on your daughter, we can revive her three times, assuming we were able to recover a single scrap of her flesh." Emerald says, a bit proud. "She let our scientists scan her, and... well, the Immortality Protocol says the rest. Though, as per usual, hopefully it won't need to be used."

 

"You may find, as my daughter, she's a little more resilient past death." Praecantatia says, smiling.

 

You have two paths; you could try and climb across the rocks and building debris, or risk being heard by the water and swimming to them. Swimming's faster, but... it would probably give you away; if not on the way down, on the way up.

"We know. She's gotten crushed into paste before." Emerald says, before realizing that wasn't the best thing to say.

 

"No worries about that."
Bardock stands up and faces the draconain.
"And who are you?"

 

Praecantatia goes silent.

"...What?" Praecantatia asks.

 

"I am Ragnyon, a wandering prophet. I'm... too tired to give anyone else a vision today. I can barely stand when I'm not dizzy..." She says, most of her weight leaning on the staff or the dragon.

 

I never liked swimming and suffice to say, I'm not very good at it either. Climbing seems like the better idea, having the element of surprise is always a good thing.

 

"You're the prophet?"
"I thought finding her would be a bit harder" He thinks

 

Emerald sighs.
"No sense hiding the truth. When the group was fighting to free Xlentia from her mind control, Stephanie dove into her pile of gold. The Hive Master made Xlentia flatten her stash... and your daughter. However, she used a temporary glass body and by the next day, was doing most of the things she had been."

As you navigate the (sketchy-at-best) walkways sticking out of the water, you can see what looks to be a dog swimming in the water. You can only see the hound-like head, but... it's walking, not swimming. It can't be a dog.

"Yes, I am. And you are?" She asks, legs buckling before she lays on the dragon's wing.

 

"S-She was dead?" Praecantatia asks, shocked.

 

"Sort of. Her soul was completely intact, though." Emerald admits.
"I'm sorry, I... mix up trains of thought sometimes."

 

Praecantatia sighs, looking away for a bit.

 

I'm thoroughly confused, how big can that thing be? "I haven't seen a dog in ages, but this is certainly not how I remember then" I think. I take out my dagger just in case.

 

"...Should I take my leave?" Emerald whispers.

As you get closer, it seems to have stopped.
"...Who's there?" A deep voice echoes throughout the caverns.

 

Praecantatia stays silent for a bit.

"I'll go tell the group." Praecantatia eventually says, looking a bit distant as she gets up and heads toward the centre island.
