My New House

My parents recently bought a small house in Upstate New York (not getting any more specific than that) and I'm spending the next day or so preparing it to be livable. Would anybody like a tour?
(For those wondering, no, I'm not moving out of NYC. I don't plan on living here at all, my parents just thought it was a good investment to buy it now and rent it out until they want to move in after I've gone to college or something. We will still be using/visiting from time to time though.)


Not such a big house. The previous owners were a gay couple, but I think I'll leave the rainbow flag up.

Living room. I'm going to buy a TV today. I'll probably replace the carpet, as well as try to arrange some furniture.


Small dining room. There are some paint samples on the table; these walls are going to be a bit more colorful soon.

A basement?


Just some old laundry machines and the boiler. I'm going to have to do a lot of work here.

Bathroom.


Master bedroom, and closet space behind. Maybe another TV here?

The last bedroom. A bit smaller, but what's that door to the right?


A small cubby area! I hope I can find a creative use for this. There's a trapdoor to a tiny attic up top but I don't think we're going to use that.

There's some more stuff outside, but I'll add that later.

I'm going to bed now, but I want you guys to suggest some cool things I can do with this house.

Pro tip: Look for secret compartments. Turn coat hangers. Reach inside holes in walls and feel for hidden locking mechanisms. Knock and listen for hollow panels in walls. Secret compartments are always useful, and not that uncommon. I have at least 4 in my house.

Ya'll have fancy basements and attics for a nuclear apocolypse while I live near a military base that can be struck by north korea, with barely anything to protect me.
