"Well, Temporus said he wanted to participate, but I don't remember if Tenebrae let him." Praecantatia says, shrugging.

 

"Considering he's armed with godslaying weapons, I would hope she didn't."

 

"I don't think Temporus can be killed until the end of this universe," Praecantatia says, "He'll just turn back time to the point he was still alive, since if he dies time itself dies with him, and that messes everything up."

 

"Peridot won't try to kill him, even if they did fight. I can't see him trying to kill anyone except those that lie to him." Emerald shrugs. "Still, he's a really big problem if you manage to anger an emotionless bucket of hilariously old tech."

 

"Does he need upgrading?" Praecantatia asks, holding up a screwdriver.

 

"Need? Clearly not. Has he been? Never."

 

"Well, I'd..."
Voidfiller stops and actually thinks about it.
It sighs.
"I wouldn't."

 

"What made you hesitate?"

 

"There's some stuff I've done that I'd gladly get a redo on, but time travel backwards isn't all that great most of the time. From experience."

 

"You've done it before?" She asks, putting her book down.

 

"A few times, but for the same purpose and in the same place. Found an old run-down shop run by robots, they had this time travel machine that only worked backwards. Used it a few times for personal reasons and managed to completely demolish that part of my life."

 

"Interesting... You didn't seem to mess up time too much, so you must've found a decent chronomancer."

 

"Well, I don't know who they were, but they built something pretty stable."
Voidfiller shrugs.
"What about you?"

 

"I've been working on a... risky proposition. The short of it is that I am working on an arena where the souls of the fallen can be resummoned. They'll only be able to maintain themselves in a certain zone, but the idea is... the ancient draconians had knowledge stashed away in a brutal war machine. The only other way I can think of to learn from them is to... well, bring them back."

 

"You mean, like at the Void Palace?"

 

"I didn't intend to do it there, no."

 

"I mean, there are arenas at the Void Palace where people battle and the dead are revived through time manipulation."

 

"Not quite like that. Those simply reset the combatants to their states before the fight. I'm talking, bringing back historical figures that have been dead for generations... temporarily, at least."

 

Voidfiller thinks for a few moments.
"It's possible, certainly. I've heard of a spell that can do that, but I've only heard of it, never seen it done, and I've only heard of one person who claimed to have it, and they're dead."
