"That's what I go with anyways. It's just easier to make stuff in someone's head."

 

"Well... yeah. Unless you're fighting someone experienced with telekinetics... then the line's blurred."

 

"It's just a warning of how much time I have left here." Praecantatia says.

 

"What happens if it expires?"

 

Voidfiller nods, then pauses.
"How'd you know I bought an hourglass, by the way?"

 

"Easy. You didn't have one when you entered the city, and you went towards the marketplace first."

 

"It won't be able to compensate for my lack of presence in my own reality, and terrible things will start to happen." Praecantatia says.

 

"So you were watching me?"

 

"There's a camera at every entry."

The warpwyrm unmeshes it's teeth.
"That sounds less than pleasant. Go hurry back so you can have a nice day."

 

"Oh."
Voidfiller thinks, but doesn't say anything.

 

Pause.
"Also, the guard was watching you, but they watch everyone."

 

"Yeah, I figured. I typically get watched more often when I enter a town, so I'm used to it."

 

"You are a shapeshifter, so that doesn't help either."

 

"Case in point."

 

"Thanks." Praecantatia says, jumping through and heading back towards the portal, only turning around to blow the warpwyrm a kiss, winking.

 

"Say... what would happen if you could go back and change the past? Just out of curiosity."

"Come back soon!" It says with a satisfied tone.

"Thirty seconds. Book it." Emerald reminds Praecantatia. "Run left out of the portal room, and Xlentia's doors are wide open with the portal back just inside."

 

"I need the information to tell Ste-, ah, the group though!" Praecantatia says urgently.

 

"I'll give it to you when you get back. Twenty seconds, GO!" Emerald snaps.

 

Praecantatia grabs her necklace hastily, losing grip of it for a moment before grabbing it tightly, tapping it twice and disappearing in a red flash.

 

A few minutes later, Emerald opens her own portal to Earth from the realm of Shadows, quickly darting up into orbit before sending out a telepathic link meant for Praecantatia.
