Lore Contradiction?

Alright so I was trying to make a script of a video which would cover the Wynn province history, when I found a odd contradiction between sources.

In the lore of the House of Twian, it is said that "... for rumours of miners releasing more than mere dark sorcerers into the world had reached the ears of the aged spirit seekers, and immediately converged to greet the onslaught of monsters pouring out of the portal." The portal was opened 1,000 years ago. There are 2 problems with this.

1. Mael would be 900 years old if he was the one who taught Bob the ways of the Archer.
Many people I have asked have said that the Mael who taught Bob his Archery skills a mere century ago was the very same Mael Twain. If the four Twain children were born a millenia ago, this would mean that Mael was 900 years old when he taught Bob.

Some people have said that Mael could have used his powers to keep himself at the Twain house in Spirit form until Bob came, which could be a plausible explanation.

2. This Wynncraft timeline thread says that the Twain children were around ~240 years ago.
They wouldn't have been around for the opening of the portal then!
I don't know if this source is reliable anymore.

So if anyone can answer these questions, it would be great:
-Were the Twain children born ~1000 years ago or ~240 years ago?
-Is the Mael Twain the same Mael who taught Bob?
-Could Mael have sustained himself for 900 years?

Joking, I honestly don't know man. Though, was Mael around 1000 years ago or was that Marius, since Marius was the first Twain Hero?

 

Er I think that's wrong - Marius was the one who adopted the four Twain children. he was not the first Twain.

 

You're Correct, My mistake. I for some reason thought Mael was Marius.

What I'm wondering is if the two Maels are different, the adopted one being Named after the first?

I understand when Bob was born. Again, A Mael Twain taught Bob Archery, yes? However, It might not have been the same Mael 900 years prior.

We know 4 children were adopted by Marius, one being A Mael. Potentially, when the children were adopted, they were named after key members in the ancestral line of the Twain's. One of these children was given the name Mael, became an amazing archer, and taught Bob.

This means that we have two Maels, the One from the portal opening and one being an adopted child.

 

Yea, I was just correcting you because you said "the adopted one being Named after the first" but the adopted one was first. ;)

 

I am now confused. The adopted one was the first of two Maels is what you are saying, but Marius wasn't around at the time of the portal? Honestly so confused right now.

100 years ago, a mael living in twain mansion taught bob

Ok, so with what you just said, it allows the following:

1,000 years ago, we have Mael Twain born at the portal opening.

100-150~ years ago, a Mael Twain is born and adopted with 3 other children and are named after Twain Ancestors.

100~ years ago, Bob is taught by a Mael living in the Twain mansion

 

naw naw naw 1,000 years ago a Mael Twain is born and adopted with 3 other children RIGHT BEFORE the portal opening. ~20 or so years

100 years ago Bob is taught by a Mael living in the Twain mansion

 

So that means what I said about Marius being around at the Portal opening holds weight? Ok then....

The wiki isn't that great of a source regarding lore. In-game sources are best.

the wiki lore I am using derives its lore from the lususco libraries in game

 

Still though, primary sources are generally better than secondary ones. Try checking the libraries themselves, rather than the wiki's interpretation.
