Media Sealed Letters/dern Speculation

im rly bored and i should be doing my hw but eh
Ok so I know the whole sealed letters hype died out like 3 years ago but I noticed there hasn't been any new developments regarding it for a long time, and was wondering what we could possible piece together with the information we have now compared to a few years ago. Also, I am aware that this is some old stuff, and the chance of it still being accurate/relevant are quite low, but I'm bored so why not. It has been generally acknowledged that the creature Robert (Bob) speaks of in the first letter is the Corrupter of Worlds, and he proceeds to explain how he sealed it away with his life force. However, in the third letter, he describes a "dark creature of the night in a land "far" away, it poses a threat to all." I don't think that he is talking about the CoW in this instance, and that he is describing something other than the CoW, as it wouldn't make sense for him to tell Nilrem of his fight against the "creature" to be futile and then proceed to tell him the same creature is "a dark creature of the night in a land "far" away,". Obviously, the land "far" away must be Dern, and this creature he speaks of would be perhaps the reigning force or most powerful evil in Dern. The fact that you can find an unfinished letter near the tent in the "Amazing Voyage" quest, where the later dimension has been speculated to be Dern, aslo supports the theory that Robert was not even talking about the CoW at all. The conflict that Robert describes must be the clashing of Good and Evil, Light and Dark, a theme that is reminiscent in the WynnExcavation as well as the Realm of Light storyline. Speaking of which, the Realm of Light arc of quests are not yet complete, and may shed more light on the subject in the future, perhaps with the release of Dern at the same time. There's probably a lot more to be discussed, and I'm sorry for this wall of text and poor organization, but its rly late here and im feeling pretty ded inside idk wut do u guys think tyyy for reading gn

 

I mean a big thing about the Sealed Letters hype dying out was that every possible theory was made like 10 times

All of this can be inferred just from reading the letters (also, it's not CoW, pretty sure it's the beast on Dead/Alive island). The thing Bob talks about in a land far away might be the eye.
There are also some inconsistencies: For instance, Bob tells Nilrem to hide his animals, yet Nohno states that Bob gave Cluckles to him, so either 1) it's a plot hole or 2) Nilrem cosplayed as Bob
The fact that the realm you enter in FV is Dern is further supported by the fact that you emerge out of the Abandoned Mines, a place affiliated with Dern (according to the Villagers, I believe).

 

I don't believe that Bob was talking about the beast on Dead Island, as although it was big and obviously very bad, it was just mentioned that "A powerful warrior from... Ragni slew the beast," suggesting he just came, killed it, and left. In the letter, Bob states that "My war against the creature is futile," suggesting a lengthy engagement, and as he says, war. Although the beast on Dead Island was said to produce monsters, they seem to have been contained on the island, as none of the neighboring land masses seem to have been affected at all. However, the CoW would have been a much larger menace to all of Wynn, at least at the time, since it was already on the mainland and spreading corruption all over. Not only that but on the wiki it states "It was rumoured he heard of a beast corrupting the province, promoting the war and increasing the strength of the monsters, I imagine Bob probably sought to destroy it, but in his old age, perhaps he wasn’t up to the mark,"

 

What if Bob was talking about the Eye? (The one in the wynncraft logos and the one the ancients were fleeing from)

 

He is. Far as I am aware, and I pride myself on knowing almost every bit of Lore there is to know. From what I know, Bob went to fight the Eye, as he wanted to rid the world of all evil, and Dern is the centerpiece of Evil. He attempts to fight the Eye (Or an interpretation of the Eye) but is unable to defeat it. He puts his Life Force into his animals / uses his life force to seal away the creature (Fuzzy on either its both, or one. Old knowledge.) Nilrem (Merlin) receives the letters, creates a body, that's the one you see in Bobs Lost Soul, you fight Bob in heaven in Reincarnation

I know it was originally CoW, but the story expanded, especially when Gavel dropped.
It was never the Beast on Dead Island, we are not even sure it was Bob who killed it (Ragnar)
I have seen some odd few say it was Ozoth, or even the Worm come from the Decay. There is not evidence, and is HIGHLY unlikely.

 

The one part that doesn't make sense is that if the Anceints were fleeing the eye, wouldn't the eye have chased them all the way to the dernal jungle? A theory I had was that the ancients used the four crystals power to kill the eye, but maybe they banished it to dern and bob decided to try to end the eye once and for all

 

They are fleeing and dying due to the Corruption the Eye bestowed into them. They were greedy for power, it caused Corruption. Light + Dark, etc etc etc. the four crystals... May have been used by the ancients to summon the Eye for greedy purposes. Just a theory, but it would make sense. I think. The ancients hail from Dern, and they summoned it there, they fled to the Dernel Jungle, if it had chased them, why would they still be there, and not running away still?

 

I mean it's already generally thought by the public that this beast was the Eye and not CoW or the Dead Island Beast
