"We have been." Legna chuckles.

 

"Right... sometimes I get caught up with things..."

 

"Oh, no, I just bent time. I try not to let my forward progress mess with conversations." She shrugs.

 

"Oh, huh. Neat ability. I don't see them often, so it's always a treat to come across someone with genuine time powers."

 

"You're about to meet roughly a hundred of 'em." Legna shrugs.

 

"I guess it wouldn't be too terrible if I did though." Praecantatia says happily.


"Where may I find her then?" Caelia inquires.

 

"Oh? Once again, always a treat."
Voidfiller smiles.

 

"No, it'd be really bad. I don't know if there's a single family here that hasn't used the black market at some point in time. Super super useful place, it's where we get a few of our ingreedients."


"Just like me, you won't. However, she may still have an old body left somewhere. I dunno, I ditched mine a couple days from now."

"A hundred." She giggles, time bending around the group as the path behind seems to zip by impossibly fast.

 

Voidfiller just stays silent.

 

"Isn't the black market a bad place though? Where they sell organs and illegal items?" Praecantatia asks worriedly.


"Will ditch." Caelia corrects.

 

It feels like seconds until the time warps fade and the trio is heading up a bridge.
"Don't touch the barrier. It'd be the last thing you do."

"Sometimes, but not often. Any foreign commodity is sold there."


"Ohh, time shmime."

 

"Oh, so it's like an import market?" Praecantatia asks, smiling.


"Time is important, just as much as Space." Caelia states.

 

"Yeah. Just, underhanded."


"Yeah yeah, I get it."

 

"I didn't really intend to almost take it out, by the way. It was just a bit of a long journey here." Praecantatia says, slightly embarassed.


"Are you able to tell me about the ender's blessing itself? Or are you unable to do that too?" Caelia asks.

 

"Yeah, two weeks is a long time. It's tough, but we manage."


"No, but even if I knew I don't think I could describe it."
Pause.
"If you can understand me normally, I'd rather not have to keep trying to say things the way mortals do."

 

"Don't you have any kind of teleportation device for faster travel?" Praecantatia asks.


"I can't." Caelia says coyly.

 

"Nothing that long range."


"I hate you, you should consider being my servant! Tons of perks, like not even needing to exist!"

 

"I could help out with that if you wanted." Praecantatia says happily.


"I...would...not like to be your servant, because it sounds like a terrible job. Having you around would be horrible, and I'd hate having to see you." Caelia says carefully, working hard to adapt to the odd method of speech.

 

Voidfiller keep moving, looking for what might qualify as 'the barrier'.

 

"Talk to the mayor and our god, if you're willing to help with that. It'd help a lot."


"Okay, I need a response in normal mortal talk. Double meanings get us nowhere in either manner of speech."
