The phrasing of your statement suggests that you think mythic ownership and/or "being rich" is necessary to understand basic economics.

 

Here is how (in my opinion) the market works.
You can a. Scam your way to mythics
Or b. A mythic finds you
A good part of the community finds a mythic, and the rest scams their way to it.
There is a good chance you'll find someone that knows what their doing, and notices you have no idea about prices, and they offer you a stack of le for it, which in your eyes is a lot, but in the "SUPER ULTRA RICH PEOPLE"'s eyes, its pretty petty.

although, if you went through the time when u had no idea what market prices are at least once, you should be able to build back up and become a "SUPER ULTRA RICH PERSON".... should

 

Ok, but this "guide" (air quotes cause this barely qualifies as one) isn't about the extremes, it's about helping the average joe determine the real value of his stuff. If you have a mythic, you likely don't need a guide to realize that you're rich.
That's also why I said to avoid low level trading, cause that's as extreme as mythics, just on the other side of the spectrum.

Again, I understand that, but you're talking about the same problem I am, which is people not knowing market value. I used to not know or understand market values when I first started my shop, but I have a better grasp of it now, so I figured I would share my personal learnings. If what I learned differs from what you learned, then this is a good place to share that information. After all, I'm not trying to create a textbook, I'm trying to create a discussion.

maybe when mythics first came out, but now there's so much information available with a simple Google search to the point where if you still get scammed, that's your own fault

I agree on taking in consideration those factors, but...
level 11-30 does not have 1-3 to spend,
Lower level gear can be bought from people with other classes at high level, so they have money and they are willing to spend,
Some lower level items are useful even at high level and so their value is not level-based (rarity, jera, bad wolf, blue mask),
Blue mask can be worth way more than 30LE...


Also if they add a decent market like steam for csgo/dota items you will see the real prices of everything, until then the market will be fake.

First, I had 2 le when I was lv 30, so idk, but the point is that you shouldn't charge lots of money for lv 30 gear
Second, yes, blue masks can be worth that much, but most don't. unless it's 70sp+, it's not really worth much, and even then, it needs to be 90sp+ to be worth over 30LE
Finally, I agree with the marketplace idea, but it'll never happen ;(

Reading this, it seamed hostile, so I want to say that this is all written with love and joy that you read what I wrote and made an opinion, so thanks for your opinion and thoughts!
