Since Mage isn't really the damaging type I went with a support PvE build which is what I'd recommend for you.

pvp build with spells
dont have any hive items atm, lost my boots

 

I'm telling you right now, An least you have an Alkatraz or at least a Thrundacrack PvP Warrior will be garbage.

Oh and use Tidebinder as a secondary weapon.

Why send this?
If you want an overview on the build, It's pretty typical but good, No room for improvements.

 

Mage,tanky,hive items i only have prowess.LI items are easy.Weapon:Gaia

Some extra mana regen doesn't hurt.
You always wanna stay between 4/4 and 14/4 mana regen.
7/4 fits perfectly for this build.

 

Spellbased Archer , PvE mainly , Access to Gaea-Hewn Boots an Hephaestus-Forged Greaves + Hive Bow (eventually mythics - not strati tho)
