Murder Mystery: A_total_noob Edition (complete)

This is another murder mystery, because why not. Simple-ish rules. You can ask suspects questions, and they will answer. However, they might lie if it benefits them. Once you have an idea, submit a suspect form.

NOTE: This murder is an alternate universe, taking place around the same time as the quest WynnExcavation Site A. WynnExcavation is a similar organization to how it is in the main version of Wynn.

Spoiler: Autopsy

Victim: Excavator Vade
Time of Death: 9:30 A. M.
Place of Death: A side passage in the ruins at WynnExcavation Site A.
Cause of Death: Throat slit. Clothes were also rather burned and torn.
Points of Interest regarding the passage: Bloodstains on floor, stones torn up, a bit of ash on floor.

Gorreth was paid 1 LE to guard the camp by Vade.
Gorreth cannot use magic well.
Gorreth has two daggers. One is water-elemental, and one is not magical.
Tasha:
Tasha was given a scroll to translate by Vade.
Tasha can use magic.
Tasha is lower rank than Krom and Vade.
Krom:
Krom was of equal rank to Vade.
Krom got lost in the ruins.
Krom disliked Vade for bossing him around.
Ormrod:
Ormrod was camped out near the WynnExcavation camp.
Ormrod was attacked by monsters at 8 AM.

Gorreth the Mercenary: "I was patrolling the site all morning, and keeping monsters out of the camp."
Researcher Tasha: "At 9:30, I was in my tent deciphering a scroll the diggers found in the ruins."
Ormrod the Nomad: "I was packing up my camp at 10:00, when Excavator Krom came running over here."
Excavator Krom: "I was digging out the ruins, when I found Vade’s corpse and fled."

Gorreth the Mercenary: "I dual-wield daggers."
Researcher Tasha: "I likely spent the whole hour working on deciphering the scroll."
Ormrod the Nomad: "I was just camped near the site."
Excavator Krom: "At about 9:45, I was walking around the ruins, and went into a side passage. I didn't know Vade was there. I headed further down the passage, when I spotted Vade's corpse. I didn't notice any details about the body, other than that he was dead. I looked at it, realized he was dead, and immediately fled the ruins, shouting about Vade's death."

 

At this point everyone seems equally guilt for different reasons

Ormrod: You are a nomad you said, in the desert? Desert nomads typically travel at night, when it's cooler, so they arnt treking in the sun. Why were you packing up so early?

Tasha: Everyone's stories seem to connect to Vale somehow, except for yours... Anything to say about that?

Krom: Your stories dont add up. First you said you were digging in the ruins then you said you were just walking around.

Gorreth: Do you practice magic? (Since this is Wynn I'm assuming magic is a normal thing like the meteor spell and whatnot. Would it be too meta to ask for classes?)

 

Ormrod: "It was badly damaged, and I needed to go to Almuj for supplies."
Tasha: "Vade was a decent guy. He was a higher rank then I was."
Krom: "Well, I was going to another area of the ruins to excavate there, but I got lost."
Gorreth: "I'm terrible at magic."
As for classes, Krom and Ormrod don't really have classes, Tasha is somewhat of a mage, and Gorreth is one of those mercenaries you can hire in Almuj that nobody ever uses, so he's somewhere between Warrior and Assassin.

OOC: Why is it you end up asking questions about the areas I hadn't fleshed out?

 

Gorreth: How good are you at stealth?
Tasha: Did you recently have any quarrels with Vade?
Krom: You got lost? You seem to forget to mention that earlier. Who did you first alert about Vade's death?
Ormrod: Why were you near the excavation site anyway?

 

You know me well enough. If something hasn't been fleshed out I would figure it's because they are trying to hide that info

Ormrod: "Damaged? How so? By what?

Gorreth: "How many daggers do you have? Have any of them gone missing?" (I was asking about magic because Vale was burned, so I was thinking some magic involved. I don't think Gorreth did it. Vale's throat was slit and Gorreth is the dagger dude, but the others seem more suspicious.)

Tasha: "You didn't answer my question. Everyone else's testimonies somehow link to Vale, yet yours is completely irrelevant. Anything to say about that,"

Korm: "Something doesn't add up. If you were just going to another part of the ruins why did you take a shady side passage and not the main ones?"

 

"Tasha, would you say that you have any knowledge of fire magic and if so, would you say your very proficient at it?"

 

Gorreth: "I'm decent at it."
Tasha: "No, not really."
Krom: "I was just randomly screaming. Probably everybody nearby heard it."
Ormrod: "I didn't know it was there."

Ormrod: "Monsters tore up my tent, stole my stuff, and were generally causing lots of trouble."
Gorreth: "I have two, and neither of them have gone missing."
Tasha: "I... don't really know. I didn't realize anything happened to Vade until Krom came out yelling."
Krom: "Like I said. I got lost."

Krom: How well do you know the ruins site?
Ormrod: Has the curse the mummy put on you been lifted yet?
Gorreth: How close are you to Tasha?

 

Tasha: "I don't really know Gorreth, aside from Vade hiring him as a site guard."
Krom: "Well, we started excavating recently, so I don't really know it that well."
Ormrod: "No. No, it hasn't."
Gorreth: "She's a researcher at this camp. That's all I know."

 

Everyone except Ormrod: What do you know of the mummy's curse?
Ormrod: My apologies. I think you may be linked to this murder via this curse. Why were you going to Almuj if your curse was still in effect?

 

Ah! I think I'm onto something

Ormrod: "Hold up, you might have just helped me a bunch. When did monsters attack your tent?"

 

Gorreth, Krom: "What curse?"
Tasha: "I don't know much about Ormrod's curse."
Ormrod: "I planned to leave quickly after picking up supplies."

Ormrod: "During the morning. I was barely able to fight them off."

 

Wait since when was Ormrod cursed?

 

Ormrod: "Since a while before this whole murder mystery started."
