    i did like to say i understand this thread but damn why cant every language be written in the latin alphabet ;-; we would solve soo much complexity problems ;-;

    jk fucking jk i know "culture is important" blah blah blah yes i know it was a joke i love yall japanese and chinese guys ur awesome in lots of ways
    but i still find oriental languages hard af because of the different alphabet...

    Written is largely the same
    most cantonese people I see use FanTi
    I use ZhenTi because it's easier
    I got lazy and assumed it was fanti

    they are translating the quests into the spoken cantonese language, which is in itself really different to the written general chinese language. In addition, the cantonese spoken language includes a lot of local slangs that is not present in any written languages, no matter cantonese written or manderin written. And even the written cantonese and the written manderin themselves do differ a little bit when it comes to certain terms, where they refer to the same meaning but with different terms.
