Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Confused, she glances back at the animal.
"Is... this supposed to mean something?"

 

It looks for any passerby workers.

 

One passes by.

 

"The device up there is called a Zoescope. It shows things of interest. It's how I found out about you and your little adventure." The animal says happily.

 

The thing speaks up, looking at the worker.
"Excuse me?"

 

"Interesting... so you have seen proof of what others think are mere tales I tell?"

"One second, please." He says, carrying eight mugs to the back room before returning.

"...Yes?"

 

"I was wondering how much one of the, uh, blue drinks and dark red drinks would be."

 

"In a way, yes." The animal says.

 

"A coin gets you three mugs of choice."

"...I hope you haven't seen anything classified, or... uhm... I'm legally obligated to turn you in to the Shadow Palace for a memory wipe." Alice says, slightly nervous.

 

"Nothing that people wouldn't want me knowing," The animal says, "Perhaps you could use the Zoescope to help you on your little adventure through Moss Town."

 

"If you wouldn't mind me doing so, it does sound useful."
Pause.
"Would you mind giving me your name? And, if you don't mind me asking, is this town also afraid of dragons?"

 

"I wouldn't think we're afraid of...dragons," The animal says, his eyes drooping a bit, "My name's..."

The animal falls asleep, probably due to it's age, snoring.

 

Alice checks for any health abnormalities, considering mindreading.

 

The animal just seems to be rather old, probably not able to prevent himself from sleeping often.

 

"Alright."
The thing gets out a coin.
"I can just tell you my order, right?"

 

Alice just heads back to the Skyrail station.


Amber tries telepathically linking with you.
"Hey... if you don't mind me asking, what's up with that shadow queen lady's reaction to Ruby's remains?"

"Yeah."

 

It's a bit of a wait until the next cart, but it eventually comes.

"Leaving so soon miss?" The animal behind the desk asks.


"Well, when we went to battle Xlentia to free her from the mind control, Ruby decided to kill herself to deliver a massive strike against Shadow Stephanie. I fear if it weren't for Tenebrae's will, she'd have been killed completely, returned to Tenebrae," I explain, "But...don't tell her this, I'm trying to work out a way to get Ruby resurrected. If Xlentia's change in personality from being freed from mind control is anything to go by, I don't think Ruby was herself when she turned hostile. If Shadow Stephanie were to find out I was trying to bring her back though, she'd probably destroy my efforts and beat me up. "

 

"For today, yes. I literally left the kettle on, and the sunlight's getting to my stronger abilities." Alice nods.


"Yeah, that makes sense. Good luck with your project, I guess. If it means anything, I can help keep her busy."

 

"Ah, that's a bummer. Safe travels, then." The animal says, waving Alice goodbye.


"Well, luckily for now she's off on her own adventure, so she's out of the way for a bit. Thanks for the offer though." I say happily, heading through the Shadow Palace halls with Ruby's remains.

 

"I'll try to be back tomorrow." Alice says, waving as she tosses the animal a diamond coin. "Go buy yourself a little something!"


Amber trails you.
"I'll keep Sivius on deck in case she gets back early."
