Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Holly appears to be mostly fine, albeit her life force weakened.

 

Alice picks her up carefully, attempting to fly her out of the mine.

"That's... an interesting philosophy..." The supervisor says, letting it pass.

 

Alice manages to get out of the mine quite easily, the elevator an option for speeding up the ascent.

 

It shrugs, walking towards the city, the table and second chair disappearing as it does.

 

She uses the elevator to get out, rushing over to the lake and letting Holly rest on the shore as she goes back to grab her parasol, pained by the time she returns to Holly.

Nothing else interrupts it, a few stone buildings visible past a handful of farms.

 

Holly seems to have slid into the lake, half of her body in the water.

 

Walking swiftly, the thing changes back to its default switching form, walking towards the buildings.

 

Alice decides to empower her, trying to bring her to her senses.

The first few are houses, the residents seeming to try and hide from it.

 

It glaces at some of them, smiles and does a slight wave, while walking.

 

It takes a while, but Holly eventually starts to come to, weakly using a hand to drag herself into the lake.

 

Alice keeps empowering her.
"Don't overdo it." She thinks.

They all avoid eye contact, the guard from the previous shift waving it over.

 

Holly just lies at the bottom of the lake, barely conscious, watching the water on the surface ripple.

 

It walks over to the guard, not continuing to smile or wave.

 

"Who in this town is a medic? You're in pretty bad shape." Alice thinks.

"I take it you still tried to pass off as human, considering it took you half an hour."

 

"Well, I didn't 'worm my way' through it."
It comments.

 

"There's a sort of hospital near the general store." Holly thinks.

 

He smiles.
"That's the wit I was hoping to hear. If you don't mind me asking, how'd you get let in?"

"I'm going to go let them know you're coming... Unless you want to lay down here for a few days."

 

"You know Eran? His partner was out today, so he offered to play some cards with me after denying me access. I summon a table and some chairs, we take a seat, and we talk while we play. I didn't do anything suspicious during the game, and the supervisor eventually saw, and he offered that I can get inside if Eran is demoted."

 

"Yeah... his partner will probably hate you for that, but since he's not looking too good, you're probably fine."

 

"Eran seemed lonely anyways, and he's not even sure if his partner will come back."
The thing points out.
"Are people going to still give me a hard time if I walk around like this?"
