Flushed Ace, a Nepeta x Selvut Fanfiction.

Nepeta entered the busy 'Steamed Bean' coffee shop on a particularly warm and sunny day, the street outside bustling with commotion as people moved by. The inside of the coffee shop wasn't any cooler, the closed space and amount of people only adding to the heat from the coffee machines. Selvut, looking up from his newspaper, waved Nepeta over to his table with a smile on his face. The pair had planned to meet on this day, and Selvut was pleased Nepeta had decided to come.

":33 < hey selvut!" Nepeta said happily as she sat down, her blue tail poking through a gap in the chair. "I'm glad you came, Nepeta. I've been looking forward to this for quite a while." Selvut said, giving Nepeta a gentle smile and looking her directly in the eyes. ":33 < h33h33, of course i'd come to hang out with you selvut! youre one of my best furiends!" Nepeta said sweetly, ":33 < shouldnt we get some coff33?" "Oh, of course," Selvut said, the thoughts on his mind making him a little nervous, "I'll go get us some coffee then."

Nepeta glanced over at Selvut's newspaper as he got up to get some coffees for the pair of them. The article he was reading seemed to have been about riots around a company called 'Wynn Industries Inc.'. Supposedly some of the choices the employees had made about one of their products, the 'Mythic' had enraged people. Before Nepeta could read down to the part that mentioned Selvut being the main cause of this, the bunnyman himself returned with some coffee, moving the newspaper out of the way. "Here you are, Nepeta," Selvut said, placing a cup of coffee in front of the cat-like troll, "I know you're not the biggest fan of coffee, but I appreciate the fact you'd drink it for me." ":33 < of course i would selvut! ive b33n trying to understand your culture a little better, and if drinking coff33 is necessary then i guess i n33d to drink coff33!" Nepeta said happily, taking a sip of her caffeinated drink. "Well, I've been trying to understand your culture as well. I think the fact you're from another planet is fascinating," Selvut said, "And as much as I've struggled to understand your system of romance, I think I've finally managed to understand one part of it."

The pair gazed into each others eyes for a short while before Nepeta looked away, glancing down at her coffee as she took another sip, ":33 < whats that, selvut?" Nepeta asked curiously, looking back at Selvut. "Matespritship, the flushed quadrant. I've developed flushed feelings for you, and I want to enter a matespritship with you." Selvut stated, reaching across the table and taking one of Nepeta's grey hands with his white, furry one. ":oo < y-you do?" Nepeta stuttered, Selvut's words hitting her like a Rainbow Drinker's foot between a crazed juggalo's legs. "I do, Nepeta. Will you be my matesprit?" Selvut asked lovingly.

Nepeta's heart was pounding out of her chest, ":oo < i-i...this is moving a little too fast for me, i...i have to go" Nepeta stuttered, quickly getting up and leaving. Selvut tried gripping onto her hand for a moment before letting go as he ended up knocking her cup of coffee over, spilling the drink all over the table and the floor. "Wait, Nepeta!" Selvut called desperately, but it was too late. Nepeta had left the coffee shop. Selvut buried his head in his hands, "Stupid stupid stupid." He muttered to himself, Nepeta's coffee staining his elbows.


Later that night, once back in her hive, Nepeta decided to contact her friend Terezi, and told her all about what had happened in the coffee shop with Selvut.

":33 < i know, but ive always sort of s33n selvut as just a furiend of mine
:33 < ive sort of had a flushed crush on karkitty too" Nepeta typed out to Terezi.

"N3P3T4, K4RK4T'S 1N 4 FLUSH3D R3L4T1ONSH1P W1TH D4VE
YOU N33D TO L3T H1M GO, S3LVUT S33MS PR3TTY N1CE 4NYW4Y" Terezi responded.

Nepeta tried to type out a reply, though a message appeared under Terezi's.

"gallowsCalibrator [GC] ceased trolling arsenicCatnip [AC]"

Nepeta sighed, giving her white feline lusus a light scratch between the ears before setting out toward Selvut's apartment home.


Selvut lay on his sofa, depressed as he watched boring cooking programmes on his TV. He didn't care about the cooking shows, the bubbly hosts showing something they prepared earlier, or the fact he'd eaten an entire tub of cookie dough ice cream after being rejected. Selvut was about to head to bed early before there was a knock on his door. He sluggishly got up off his sofa and opened the door, only to be completely shocked by who he saw. "Nepeta! W-What are you doing here?" Selvut asked, utterly taken back by the presence of the troll at his door.

":33 < selvut, im sorry fur how i acted earlier today. i think i do want to be your matesprit" Nepeta said, looking Selvut in the eyes and smiling. "Really? You really want to?" Selvut asked, surprised. Nepeta nodded, smiling, ":33 < weve known each other for so long now, and were such good friends, i think wed be good as matesprits" She said. Selvut smiled back at Nepeta, "Do you want to come in and watch some movies or something?" He asked. ":33 < id love to" Nepeta said happily, entering Selvut's warm apartment.

The pair stayed up late watching Earth and Alternian movies together, neither understanding the other's movie that well but enjoying it nonetheless as they had each other. At three in the morning, Nepeta and Selvut went to bed, Selvut insisting Nepeta to stay due to the time. Selvut only had one bed, so Nepeta had to share it with him, though neither minded all too much.

Selvut woke up late in the morning, groggily turning himself over to hug Nepeta beside him. "Mmh, morning Nepeta." Selvut said, opening his eyes slightly before his arms landed by his side where Nepeta once lay. Selvut felt something warm and sticky where Nepeta had been sleeping, and once his eyes focused, he found a strange, olive-green substance. "Nepeta?" Selvut asked, getting up out of his bed, his eyes wide open. There appeared to be a trail of the green substance leading out of his room and into the living room in his apartment. "Nepeta!?" Selvut shouted, following the trail before being utterly blown away by what he saw at the end of the trail.

Nepeta's bloody, beaten, decapitated corpse lay in Selvut's living room, and there were words sprawled in her blood on his wall: "hOnK hOnK :o)" Selvut took a step back, tears welling up in his eyes and a feeling of sickness coming over him. "Nepeta...no..." Selvut muttered, only able to stare at the corpse of the girl he'd loved.

Suddenly, there was the sound of creaking floorboards behind Selvut, and a distinct sound of a horn. A clown's horn.

The only realistic part about this is the fact that I apparently slept though a bloody, violent murder happening inches from me.

 

Gamzee actually dragged Nepeta out of the bed and beat her to death elsewhere for the sole purpose of stealth. The blood trail was just bait.
