1.13 Retextures

So i was randomly browing videos and this popped out

Seems like the next update will be a massive retexture of everything
And well, from the changes we have for now... i have to say i only like 2, the rest are really out of place
Why?
Well, lets see... the obsidian and diamond blocks looks good, but i did rather them being just a brand new block or something, the wood REALLY DOESNT fit with the grass and the leaves, also the bricks, they look soo HD, that they just dont fit with minecraft normal textures... i mean, they definetly have to do that change of changing absolutely everything or else it wont feel like minecraft anymore... admit it, they just dont fit...

So we got few info about this for now but, what do you guys think? because i honestly dont like a lot these changes, specially because they are really drastic

 

They're all terrible. Diamond blocks and obsidian especially. Every single new texture looks like it was painted with a brush covered in dung.

And, man, the bricks? They finally change the texture for bricks, and it's hardly different. Still the same old boring red-brown monotony.

Or the new wood? Looks like a crappy motion blur and sepia filter was put on.

i like the wway the textures are, but wwe can use texture packs to fix it (thank gog for resource packs)

 

thats what i dont like, they just made the same textures except some and well, they just dont fit
i mean, they look too blur and has too much detail, while the old ones were really good looking and simple
glad texture packs still exist
edit: also they have to redo the mobs because they wont fit with soo much overdetailed blocks
which includes changing what we can call "The logo of minecraft"
lets see, if someone ever mentions "THINK ABOUT A MOB OF MINECRAFT" or something, the first thing that comes to our mind is the creeper

Don't worry, I'm not really referring to you guys, the textures are a little meh to me as well.

But fuck dude, the lengths I've seen people go to hate on one new thing, it comes to a point where it just seems mental, especially when you can easily revert it with texture packs.

The textures are a little bleh to me (though the diamond block is decent-ish at best imo), but it ain't pixel diarrhea-bad, if people think this is the bottom of the barrel, they haven't seen a thing yet.

 

so um... am I the only one who likes the new textures then?

i wasnt suscribed, in fact i dont like gaming channels, they all went to their stupid popular games stuff, it just popped when i was checking youtube's recommended videos list and this popped out
i thought the reskins would be good but then i found out how horrible they were
i mean, the blocks are good, they just dont fit with the minecraft's default pack
typical minecraft texture pack (default): nice detailed and good looking 16x16 blocks
the reskinned minecraft texture pack (1.13 default): overdetailed and stupidly blur, i mean, for example, the obsidian i think it looks like some block in wynncraft, but it doesnt fit in normal minecraft

 

To be honest, I actually like the new textures for the most part, and I expect that they'll probably look better once they revamp the entire thing. They also probably test them with the new graphics pack that they plan on releasing whenever, which means they'll probably work better with that.

They likely wanted to make it look more like actual obsidian. The current obsidian looks more like a bunch of triangles put together, which isn't really accurate to what obsidian actually looks like. The new obsidian looks more like the volcanic glass actually does;

The bigger problem with the new bricks is that they don't fit together at all
