Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

He shrugs.
"Still going for a hit?"

 

"Nope."
It shakes its head.

 

He glances at his card.
"I am, though."

He turns over a six.
"That's it for me. What do you have over there?" He asks, getting ready to show his other card.

 

Unfortunately, the rock falls apart once she does, however it does reveal another ladder down further into the mines.

 

Sighing, Alice jumps deeper into the mines.

 

The next floor down appears to be mostly similar to the previous one, though a strange brown crystal appears to be lying amongst the rocks.

 

She goes up and curiously touches the crystal, wary.

 

The crystal doesn't do anything, though it seems to contain some kind of earth magic.

 

Alice checks her list.

 

It seems to match the earth crystal required for one of the bundles themed around geology.

 

Alice attempts to extract it without breaking the crystal.

 

The crystal seems quite sturdy, not breaking at all.

It seems the way to progress through the mines is to mine up the rocks to try and find the hidden ladder down.

 

The thing flips over his two cards, his face stoic.

 

The water collapses as spikes shoot out from where the water was. The spikes impale the draconian's feet.

 

The guard smiles as he turns over a nine.

He dodges one but not the other, wound cauterizing with cackling electricity.
He waits for you to make another move.

Alice opts to take the method of try-every-rock-until-you-get-the-right-one.

 

It takes a while, though Alice eventually finds the next ladder down, as well as a couple of geodes from the rocks.

 

"Damn."
The thing puts his cards to the side.

 

The guard does the same, dealing again.
He has a two, you have a king.

Alice heads down again, looking for anything different as she heads down progressively deeper.

 

"So, how long have you been around here?"
The thing starts up come conversation, showing itself its other card.

 

There appears to be a strange creature made of slime the next floor down, a pair of eyes on it looking at Alice.
