Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The surrounding area falls completely silent.

 

The thing puts away the grinder and takes out a machete, beheading the dead deer. Lowering the walls, the thing takes the carcass and lifts it up, testing the weight.

 

It's fairly light, but the flesh inside seems to already be going bad.

 

A bit upset, the thing takes the next while to skin and roast the deer, eating it afterwards.

 

By the time it's roasted, the meat is practically disintegrated. However, the skin seems fine.

 

"Well, I'll see you later!" Holly says, before heading to the river and jumping in, swimming away.


"I think I found your daughter, she looks fine." Gaia says telepathically to Xlentia.

 

I snap my fingers, causing my scythe to de-summon.
"You've had enough fun with that."
I erect four walls of water to surround the draconian.

 

"Not every day you get to swing around a god's weapon... if you're a mortal, at least." He says, submerging himself in one of the walls.

"Bye!" Alice says, before turning to Artemis.

"Holyshit... okay, next time, I let you handle things when you say to let you handle things." She sighs.


"Good! Well, I should get back to my palace. Do you want a ride to anywhere in particular before I leave?"

 

"At least you're friends now." Artemis says.


"Um, not really. I'm happy here, actually." Gaia says telepathically, swimming out of Katie's home.

 

"Yeah... I guess the only better mediator I know here than you is... well, Gaia." Alice sighs. "I'm... going to take a nap. Thanks for letting me borrow Sgavrinn."


"Alright. I'll talk to you later, then." Xlentia says happily, the house shaking a bit as she takes off.

 

"No problem. Sleep well." Artemis says, checking her armour over before teleporting to the Realm of Shadows with Sgavrinn.


"When should I bring Celeste and the others to your reality?" Gaia asks.

 

Frustrated, the thing drapes the pelt over himself, and makes his way back to the castle, looking to see if the guard has changed before approaching.

 

"Thanks." Alice says before heading home and sleeping, though she doesn't seem to be sleeping well as she wakes easily if there's any knock on her door.


"I suggest you coordinate that with my librarian. She handles that stuff for me."

The guard has changed.

 

Luckily nobody knocks on Alice's door, leaving her in peace.


"Wouldn't that require going to your reality though?" Gaia asks.

 

The thing walk up to the wall from the forest, looking up at the guard.
"Hello there!"

 

She wakes up at sunset, going outside to enjoy the view once again.


"No. In fact, any telepathic link you have with me goes through her."
"I usually keep quiet, though. Mistress Xlentia deserves my non-interference, as do you, Lady Gaia." Emerald adds.

"Good morning! Your hunt seems to have gone well. Would you mind giving me your name and reason for entry?" The guard asks, considerably more lighthearted than the last one.

 

"The name's Maxwell. I'm visiting, and maybe hoping for a little bit of trade."
The thing says, near matching the guard's mood.

 

The air is a little warmer, creating a pleasant atmosphere as Alice can see the orange sun setting behind the mountains.


"Oh," Gaia says, a little surprised, "So when should I go to Xlentia's reality?"

 

"Ah, great! Now, I am required to ask, are you human?" He says. "I ask you to be truthful, I don't want to start my shift having to turn down a visitor."

Alice just sits and watches, smiling at the beauty of the view.


"The ceasefire ends in a day and twelve hours, if you wish to slide in while things are still comparatively calm. Otherwise, anytime is fine as long as you are prepared to defend yourself if neccesary."

 

"Yes, I'm human. That's a strange question to be required to ask. Are you having trouble around here with non-humans?"
