The thing darts off, running in the direction the deer went.

 

"That's stupid. Sorry to hear that."


"The ceasefire's probably the best time to slide it in, so it'd either have to be quick or you'd all have to be careful." Xlentia says, thinking.

The deer stopped to graze, the dart still in its neck.

 

Putting the meat away, the thing hides, stalking the deer once more.

 

It takes a slight loss of balance for the deer to get tipped off, starting to glance around nervously.

 

"People here have been accepting, especially Clint, since he used to be a hybrid too." Holly says.


"Oh, should I go and try to arrange it now then?" Gaia asks.

 

It holds its breath, staying as still as it can in a human form.

 

"I think you're catching on to my strategy now." I say, flicking my hands upwards and then down again. The draconian is suddenly lifted into the air before being slammed down to the ground.

"Clint? I guess I haven't met everyone yet." Alice says.


"Soon, but not now. I didn't come to give you chores!" Xlentia laughs.

"I doubt it." He says, becoming a huge cloud of lightning that runs through you as he reforms, still with your scythe.

After a minute, it resumes grazing.

 

The thing slowly inhales and exhales, making sure the deer isn't disturbed.

 

It seems to have let its guard down once again.

 

"He's the blacksmith." Holly says happily.


"Oh, ok!" Gaia says, laughing too.

 

Suddenly, earthen walls are erected around the deer, encasing it, as the thing smiles.

 

It lets out a pitiful cry.

"I'll have to go introducing myself, then." Alice laughs.


Xlentia keeps circling around Earth a bit more before landing near Katie's house.
"This is my other stop. My daughter should be home."

 

Holly laughs with Alice, clearly happy.


"Shall I wait behind?" Gaia asks.

 

The thing makes stairs to the top of the wall, looking down over the deer.
"Let's get this over with."
The thing rises the ground around the deer's feet, encasing it.

 

"Would you mind showing me to their house later?" Alice asks.


"Actually, I was hoping you could check if they're home."

It lets out another pitiful cry.

 

Summoning a small grinder-like weapon, the thing jumps down into the cage, prepared for any thrashing.

 

"Sure, I know where everyone here lives." Holly says, smiling.


"Really? Ok then." Gaia says, her hair and eye colour changing to blue as she climbs off of Xlentia and changes to her smaller form, swimming down toward Katie's house and looking around inside for anyone that looks like Xlentia's daughter.

 

It struggles.

"Thanks!"


Kiin seems to be asleep in her room.

 

The thing methodically moves up to the deer's face, and puts the deer face between the wheels of the weapon. With the press of a button, the wheels clamp into the deer's head and start to whir, cracking the skull and shredding both sides of the deer's face, eventually grinding the skull, killing it.
