Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Holly simply stays near the island in the middle of the lake, trying to keep herself calm as she watches fish swim by underwater.


"Some have been scared of me when they see me, so don't worry about it." Gaia says.

 

Holly notices the surface of the water ripple and the sky darken a bit off to one side.


"Hey, can you help keep me off the ground? Alice said there was a nice view here." Xlentia asks, slowing down.

 

Holly swims to the surface, looking toward where the sky darkens.


"Sure." Gaia says, her hair and eye colour changing to an earthy brown as she starts to feel a little heavier.

 

Gaia is riding a collosal armored dragon who seems to be looking for a clear place to land.


"Thanks." Xlentia says, slowing herself down immensely.

 

Holly rubs her eyes in disbelief, before fainting, sinking to the bottom of the lake.


Xlentia finds herself able to hover above the ground without touching it, being held up by a strong force as Gaia climbs off of her. Gaia decides to change to her smaller form as she falls to the mountainous ground below, landing softly.

 

Alice brings her back to her senses, giving her a subtle urge to go towards Gaia.


Xlentia looks around town.
"It fees like a nice place. Not too big, not too small."

 

Holly swims to the edge of the lake, slowly walking over to where Gaia is, though filled with nervousness and fear.


"I really admire how they've managed to slot their community neatly into the environment. It feels welcoming." Gaia says, Xlentia able to hear her voice clearly despite her distance.

 

Alice tries to reassure her.

"Hey, Artemis, look!" Sgavrinn says happily.


"It feels like a nice place."

 

Holly nervously makes her approach toward Gaia.


Artemis glances over toward Xlentia and Gaia.

"Is that...Gaia? With Xlentia?" Artemis asks, focusing her vision to the pair.


Xlentia can see a girl with turquoise hair approaching Gaia nervously, Gaia noticing.


"Hello, you must live here. My name's-" Gaia tries to say.

"M-M...Moth- Mothe-...G-Ga-?" Holly stutters, unable to talk properly.

"Are you feeling alright?" Gaia asks, concerned.

Holly faints again, falling backwards.

 

The thing takes note of what the residents are like, still passing by.

 

Alice separates from Holly, bringing her back to her senses and helping her up.
"Come on, girl... stop passing out..." She mutters.


"I think so! Can we go say hi?"


Xlentia lowers her head and sweeps her eye over parts of the town, mindful not to break anything.

Humans and elves, minding their own business.

 

Eventually getting bored, the thing heads to the bigger town.

 

Holly seems terrified by Alice, running over to Gaia and hugging her in fear.

"H-Help." Holly stutters, terrified.

"Hey, it's ok," Gaia says soothingly, hugging Holly for a bit before looking to Alice, "Is she one of your friends?"


"Sure!" Artemis says happily, hopping onto Sgavrinn's back.


Quite a few people seem to have notices Xlentia's presence, some screaming and running for their lives while others stand where they are, looking at Xlentia with an expression of shock on their faces. One of the townspeople even seems to be bowing to Xlentia.

 

As usual, the guards stop it at the gate.
"Name and business?"

"I accidentally declared war with her since I didn't know rejecting her peace offerings led to that." Alice admits. "I thought that I should be the one giving her gifts, since I'm an outsider."


Xlentia smiles.
"Oh, no need to run, scream or bow. I'm not one of your gods. I won't harm you."


Sgavrinn happily runs towards Gaia.

 

"Maxwell, visiting."
The thing says, almost instinctually.

 

"Are you human, Maxwell?" The guard asks.

 

"For all intensive purposes, sure. Why's it matter?"

 

"S-She wants t-t-to k-kill me!" Holly says, terrified.

"Shh shh shh shh shh..." Gaia says soothingly, hugging Holly before looking back up to Alice, "Maybe you could try and tell her you're not trying to kill her?"


People still seem scared, even more so after Xlentia's statement, many of them running into their homes.


Gaia turns to Artemis and Sgavrinn once they get close.

"Oh, hello Artemis." Gaia says, smiling.

"Uh, hello Mother Gaia." Artemis says, smiling nervously.

 

"Don't hide under a false guise."

"I try, but she keeps running away. However, while she's here..."
Alice turns to Holly.
"I did not know rejecting peace offerings meant war. I am not from this realm, or even this reality. I do not want to hurt you, Holly. I feel that it is me who should be giving you offerings, not the other way around. I apologize for causing you to think it was an act of war."


Xlentia sighs.
"It's hard being a goddess." She mutters as she turns to watch Gaia.


Sgavrinn sits and waits for Gaia to seem less busy, obviously hoping to be pet.

 

"Y-You do?" Holly asks, letting go of Gaia and turning around.


Gaia, still focused on Alice and Holly, reaches out a hand and pets Sgavrinn gently.
