Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Well duh, but how many attackers would you really get without it?"

 

"Oh, shit... I turned down her fishing spear." Alice says, internally panicking.

"I'm not sure, but why take risks?"

 

"If that was her weapon, which it sounds like it was, then you've basically declared war with her. If someone presents you with their personal weapon, it shows an extreme desire for peace. You're meant to hand it back as part of the agreement of peace, but if you leave it or turn it down, it shows you want them to take it back to fight with." Artemis explains.

"You seem to know a lot about war and peace, Artemis." Louis says, impressed.

"My boyfriend knows quite a lot really." Artemis says happily.

 

"Please fix this mess... and tell me where I can read up about guardian culture because I'm screwing up really badly." Alice begs.

 

"I'll see what I can do, though I'll probably have to stay here a little longer than I planned to." Artemis says, glancing at the river before heading up the pathway beside the community centre.

 

"Sorry." Alice sighs, Sgavrinn opting to trail Artemis.

Alice glances at the community center.
"Hey, Louis? There's something else I meant to tell you."

 

"Oh? What's that?" Louis asks.

 

"You keep out possible friends, as well."
The thing points out.

 

"Inside the community center, that scroll I talked about? It seems to be some sort of contract... between faeries and some other odd race of small... things... I've never seen before. I haven't gotten much more info on it, but I figured I'd keep you in the loop."

"Possible." The girl says, before disappearing in the winged beast's neck plumage.

 

The thing comes a bit closer to the beast, curiously looking at it.

 

"A contract? That's strange." Louis says.

 

It doesn't look like anything it's seen before; the four wings seem to be its limbs, talons on the end of each wing but no legs. Its neck is feathered, but fur covers the rest of its body.

...any closer inspection seems to come with free electrocution, judging by its displeasure.

"For the faeries' cooperation. Again, I'm still working on it... though it's hard to sneak up on a faerie."

 

"I would think so!" Louis says, laughing.

 

"Gaaahh..."
The thing says, uncomfortable, as it covers itself in newly formed rubber.

 

Alice smiles.
"Well, I'm going to head home. Sorry for the scare with Sgavrinn!" She says, starting off.

The beast snarls at it, displeased.

 

"No problem!" Louis says happily, waving.

 

Sgavrinn lets out a quiet yip to let Artemis know he followed her.

 

Artemis turns around, petting Sgavrinn before heading over to the lake and sitting by it for a bit.

 

He lets his tail rest in the water as he curls up and waits with Artemis.

 

Artemis eventually starts shooting a few fish in the water, using vine hands to grab the arrows and collect the fish. Artemis shoots four fish, offering the fourth to Sgavrinn.
