Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Realizing that the thing hasn't taken time to observe these beings properly, he does exactly that.

 

They're normal humans, though none of them appear remotely close to stressed or burdened. They all seem content while they work.

 

"Oh, I think I saw him near the community centre." A woman with green hair says, smiling.

 

"Thanks!" Alice says, going to the community center whilst keeping an eye out for Louis.

 

Exiting, the thing goes into another of the brink buildings.

 

More of the same, but this building seems focused on farm-related information.

 

Louis appears to be looking the community centre over, sighing.

 

"Excuse me, mayor?" Alice asks. "I brought a friend."

 

"Ah, hello there. My name's Louis." Louis says, offering Artemis a handshake.

"Artemis. It's nice to meet you." Artemis says happily, accepting the handshake.

"You certainly look...well armed." Louis says, looking at Artemis' armour, bow and well stocked quiver.

 

Uninterested to explore this one, the thing enters the last.

 

"I didn't anticipate she'd come here battle-ready, but I suppose it doesn't make much difference. I, uh... want to apologize again and make sure you're still okay. You know... from yesterday."

This one seems to just be a storehouse.

 

"Well, it was quite the experience, I must admit!" Louis says.

 

Uninterested again, the thing exits and looks around for anything else that might be intriguing.

 

"I, uh... wanted you to meet Artemis because... well, she's one of the reasons I'm alive in the first place. I don't know if you believe me when I say there's much more over there, but... she's been in that palace library and beyond. Also, I, well... hoped she would be able to heal any damage done."

Nothing else seems unique, everyone seeming to stay inside during the middle of the day.
However, in the eye of the storm, everything's peaceful.

 

The thing ascends, looking around at how far the storm goes.

 

"Oh, I don't think I've been hurt at all. We have quite a good doctor in town, and Holly has helped out on occasion." Louis says humbly.

 

It seems to thin out with the atmosphere.

"You sure? I was worried when you passed out." Alice says, concerned.
Sgavrinn sniffs at Louis, coming out of seemingly nowhere.

 

"He looks fine to me." Artemis comments.

Louis takes a step back in reaction.

 

He then checks how far it goes horizontally in each direction.

 

"Oh, go-huh? Sgavrinn, I told you to stay home!"
He whines in response, laying low.
Alice sighs.
"Oh, it's okay, I guess. No harm, no foul..."

Not much bigger than the island. The island takes up 6 square miles total, maybe. It'd be a short walk from end to end.
