Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Everyone goes and gets a slice of cake, seeming to enjoy it.

 

"Oh, right..." Alice says after she finishes.
"Ali made it, but said she was cooking a feast for later."

 

"Whoa, really?" I ask, surprised.

I leave, taking off after Emerald, and Crystal continues relaxing near Rineth.

 

"That was going to be her gift to you, since she says the only thing she can do is cook. I told her you wanted her to work with your chefs, but she declined and said she likes working with her own or on her own."

Emerald, back in the library, turns around.
"Thanks for going."

 

"I can understand that. I don't want to pressure her into doing a job she doesn't want to do." I say happily.

 

"Plus I think that the fact that this is a Realm of Shadows doesn't help her either... her people worship the sun and use solar magic, which, as you can guess, doesn't really fit with the theme here."

 

"Oh, yeah of course. Beings from the Realm of Light can barely survive here long without special protection, but neither can we in theirs." I say.

 

"With her it's just fear. Still, she said she'd deliver the food here personally so she can say she gave you a gift."

Pause.
"Also, do you mind if Artemis comes to my house a bit? My town mayor is having... a few issues and I think she can help."

 

"I don't control her." I say, shrugging.

"Sure, I'd love to." Artemis says happily.

 

"No problem. What was that about, back there?"
I inquire.

 

"Thanks! I'll leave the portal open, then." Alice says, waving as she heads home, Sgavrinn poking his head through the portal a moment later.

"Aj's birthday was yesterday. We decided to surprise him."

 

Artemis smiles at Sgavrinn, "Hey, boy!" She says happily.

 

He hums happily as he squirms through, nuzzling Artemis before being distracted by the cake.

 

"I mean, you being nervous and then just leaving."

 

Artemis gently pets Sgavrinn the way she knows he likes, before slicing him a small piece of cake.

 

"I remember everything Xlentia erases, as part of my curse. Tenebrae did have a child... and Xlentia wiped her memory clean of ever having him."

 

"Oh. Does Xlentia remember?"
I don't seem all too phased.

 

He quickly devolves into a lump that hums and nuzzles Artemis with his snout, though he shifts towards the piece of cake after it's cut.

"Nope, though she was also mind controlled then."

 

Artemis holds the cake out for Sgavrinn to let him eat it.
