Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Yes, I am," I say, "Are you alright?"

Tenebrae looks the girl over.

 

"I-I just wanted t-to see if y-you got my p-p-present... D-daddy said t-there was a p-problem w-with delivery..."

Her shield is so strong, Tenebrae can only get information off visuals. She just seems well protected but unarmed.

 

"Oh, are you the Hive Master's daughter?" I ask.

 

She cringes before nodding.
"D-daddy said I could go t-to make sure you got the present."

 

"Tell him I received the present, and I think he is a very honourable and respectable foe." I say, smiling.

 

"O-okay..." She says, still nervous as she heads back towards the portal.

Just as she's about to go back through, she turns back around.
"U-u-uhm... c-could I have some cake, p-please?"

 

"Sure. You can stay for a bit if you want." I say happily as Stephanie telekinetically cuts out a slice of cake and floats it over to the Hive Master's daughter.

 

She takes it timidly.
"T-thanks, but I n-need to go home now..." she says.

 

"Well, goodbye. It was nice to meet you." I say, smiling and waving.

 

She waves before heading back, portal closing as she leaves.

"That was a bold move." Amber comments.

 

"I admire your pacifism in that event, Aj." Tenebrae says, smiling.

"Well, the Hive Master ordered a ceasefire, so I believe I should to the same. As much as I could've slipped poison in the cake, or some kind of tracker or what have you, I figured I should be nice to the Hive Master as he has to me." I say happily.

"I think that's a good move, actually. If we were to anger him by doing something to his daughter, he may strike with greater force to retaliate. By showing we can be kind and allowing his daughter to go completely unharmed, he may have some slight reconsiderations about us." Artemis says.

"At least we didn't anger him though, right?" Katie asks.

 

"I think he'll keep hitting us hard, but if I were him I'd consider other ceasefires in the future."
Amber comments.

"I don't think anything you did could have gotten through that shield. He wasn't trusting of us at all, she probably just kept whining until he let her come here." Emerald says.

 

"Well, as I said, our inaction says a lot." Artemis says.

"Yeah, if we'd tried to hold her hostage or something it probably wouldn't have made us look good." I say.

"As if we look even remotely good in his eyes." Shadow Stephanie comments, rolling her eyes.

"We don't look worse though!" Angela says slightly nervously.

 

"If Stephanie went over to visit the hive master and she came back unscathed, would that anger you?" Sapphire asks Shadow Stephanie.

 

"No, I'd be quite appreciative the Hive Master didn't try to do anything to her." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"Then I think he probably feels the same way with his daughter."

 

"Most likely closer. A relationship a Shadow has with it's form is very different to that of a relationship a mother or father has with their child," Tenebrae says, "I've personally considered having a child, though I don't think Lux and I are ready."

 

Emerald and Sapphire look at each other nervously.
"Holy shit..."
Xlentia looks over, concerned.
"What?"
"N-nothing, Mistress."

 

"Has Xlentia also considered having a child? I understand the parallels between her and I, though I can assure you Lux and are not related." Tenebrae says, smiling.

 

"There is literally nothing else my size." Xlentia giggles.

Emerald, nervous, takes her leave.
