Friends Mob Totems Are Not Working

Hey everyone

So my friend is the rank Veteran (Basically VIP) And he therefor gets 2 mob totems a day. back in the day when he used to play they worked fine. He was telling me that when mobs spawn because of the totem they give of purple particles. now the thing is

We don't see any of these mobs

We tried using a mob totem multiple times during the lovely double xp bombs from other players (and also while no bombs active) and we never saw a difference in the amount of mobs nor noticed any visual signs indicating this

We have tried moving the totem to different locations incase the mobs where just bugged but we can't seem to figure out why it doesn't work

So does anyone know why my friends mob totems arn't working?

 

Did you put them at Detlas or something
If not.... glitch?!

 

put them near corkus and llevigar so rip?

 

It goes by the amount of money that were in the area when the totem was placed, you must have placed it when there weren't many mobs
