You're a soldier from another continent sent to help their ally, Wynn.
As a newly recruited soldier, you are allowed to go anywhere you want and have no training schedule or commanding officers. You have exactly zero pay whatsoever and are literally allowed to go out and do whatever you want to your heart's content, and end on different continents doing your own things (Gavel and Corkus), along with islands all across the sea like Pirate Cove, without any regard for what you're supposed to do, which is to protect Ragni, Deltas, and other cities from undead. There is no training, no schedules, no pay, no rules, and no commanders!? No wonder Wynn is covered with zombies, there is no military!

Well this is mostly wrong, or skewed
I mean it's a province that's directly next to them, and you're really just an adventurer asked to help fight the corruption by Ragni's King, but yeah.
Eh? Fruma's just been shitting out adventurers with no memories for an unknown reason, and the King of Ragni is just putting them to work. You're just an adventurer, nothing more, nothing less. Besides, using super-powered fighters on defense (like the rest of the military) instead of striking back at the Corruption just makes no sense. As for going anywhere you want: that's perfectly normal. The only time you enter anywhere that would normally require permission is Gavel, a province that opened its borders and asked for help with the Decay. Corkus isn't really recognized as a province (lorewise), and you're not allowed in Fruma.
Your job is to kill mobs; each mob gets you money. As for being able to do whatever you want, well, there's not much you can do that doesn't involve ending up fighting mobs anyway.
Since your job is originally just to help quell the Corruption, there's not really any details that go with it, meaning whatever you do, so long as you encounter enemies, could be your job. As for Gavel, they asked for help with the Decay, so Wynn sent some soldiers. There's not much anyone could really do to limit your activities, either. It's not like the King really has any way to check on what you're doing, or reprimand you for it. Besides, all the while you explore you're typically aiding the cause anyway.
Yeah this one's just wrong. Any hint of a real goal is just to fight the Corruption, which is basically just killing enemies. You've got no duty to protect anything, though you are in the process anyway.
There are commanders, just not for you (General's Orders). Think of each player as a freelance soldier, not part of a regiment. As for training: you think you know how to use weapons as a class randomly? Fruma's sending over soldiers, not trainees.
Wynn's armies are per city, so it doesn't really actually have it's own military. The soldiers that do exist mostly protect their cities, while the adventurers (players) go out and actively fight the Corruption. Think of the player as offense and the military as defense. Oh, and the reason Wynn's covered in zombies is the Corruption. Which is why you're fighting it.

    Think I covered everything.

If the adventurers are the offense then why are you allowed to go to Gavel and go to Aldorei
Also when did Wynn send guys to help Gavel w decay
By training i meant military schedule that keeps you fit and ready to fight
There is nothing to stop you from deserting and everything in Almuj and Nessak has nothing to do with Corrrption, along with Gavel and the ocean
Also what's stopping you from just using your skills to become a mercenary for hire and leave to live in some cozy guild until Gavel bribes you to help fight to Decay

Well, you do do a lot of unnecessary side stuff like getting ingredients to make a cake, getting plants out of a cave for some guy, stop a couple of scientists for random reasons that don't really solve anything (Out of My Mind), give the will of a dead brother to their surviving brother, help a guy get some slime, become a pirate queen, etc. There are only about a handful of quests that make sense for the player to be doing them. (I guess Wynn Excavation counts, but you stumble upon that by accident and solve it without any help from the army) The only time the player acts like a real soldier and works for the Wynn army is the Underworld Crypt and The Mercenary and the Jungle Boss Altar. That's the one thing that surprised me a bit when I first started playing this game; the player barely helps out to directly fight the Corruption. There are no major battles you do, no real development to stop the corruption or learn what it really is, nothing... All you do is kill CoW and Charon, and that's it. And then you learn about some flat, unoriginal, and dry "story" about "light vs. darkness" that barely makes sense, and that's it. The rest of the game is just screwing around and helping out the Corkians who are far more interesting than we are actually are supposed to care about.

Now, I know what kind of game this is and what the devs have to work with. I know that the game is incomplete and it's not supposed to be a AAA story. But just making a few quests centered around the area that you are in that ACTUALLY EXPLAIN what's going on make it far more interesting than having a 20 side quests in which a few are ok while the rest are meh because they are so insignificant that it makes it boring.

Oh I will, I'm just saying, I liked Corkus more than Gavel simply because it was contained and not all over the place like Gavel. Corkus didn't feel too hyped or incomplete, and it was a decent time. Unlike my earlier post may suggest, I'm not theorist nazi where everything has to make sound sense or else it's stupid. Corkus was about sentient robots for crying out loud. Though the story should be good enough to the point where the player should care or have a slight interest in what they are doing, that's all. Otherwise, it's just boring and just a quick way to make xp. That's why after Corkus came out I have confidence that they will make the storyline good.

Anyone who approaches the portal becomes enraged with their companions. This would make a building project almost impossible (add to the fact that undead are still coming out of the portal).

I call them continents because Europe and Asia are connected but still continents
I see Wynn=Europe (Medieval), Gavel= America with lleivgar being New York City (World Trade $$), and Fruma as Asia (Great god-monarchs), with the islands being the Atlantic sea (hence the piracy)

we players oddly dont become corrupt, We could also have the builder maybe wear helmets of light or what ever there called so they dont get enraged and we players can protect the builder or just have the players block the portal in lore atleast

Not CSST, the corrupted version of the Underworld Crypt. You could probably find something about it on the wiki, and there are no quests required to do it.
The Mob Totem exploit is basically when Mob Totem granted a shit ton of xp to players which caused tons of players to level up to lvl 100 without killing a single mob

If it was that easy we would have. It's a terrible evil power, it'd take at least like seven sages or something
Well, most quests are the equivalent of being a good samaritan. You're just a passerby helping out people who ask.

As for not "directly" fighting the corruption: there's no way to do that that isn't just killing mobs. Can't exactly fight a giant portal. Considering you do kill CoW, the big baddie of the corruption, I'd say that's a pretty big thing for fighting back.
