"Well, I mean, I don't really sleep, and nobody's really told me to do anything, and nothing's really happened with the Hive Master that I've heard, so I don't really have much to do. And, Xelentia's nice, so why not just be around her?"

 

Louis just stands there in silence.

 

"Makes sense. I didn't mean to come off accusative." Linoa says.

Alice checks to make sure Louis is still alive, mostly focusing on his heartbeat and breathing.

 

He's alive, he just seems to be shocked into silence.

 

"You didn't, its fine."
Crystal smiles.

 

"Earth to Mayor, are you okay? If this is hurting you we can leave." Alice thinks. "I'm so sorry..."

"Okay, good." Linoa sighs, relieved. "It's just... we always just listen to her orders. She always seems fine on her own, so when you started visiting her, we worried something was wrong. Glad that's not the case."

 

"I-I...how...a-am I dreaming? Is this some kind of illusionary magic?" Louis asks, shocked.

 

"Like what? Like she was hurt or something?"

 

"You're not dreaming, and this is no illusion. Go on, go pick a book off the shelf." Alice suggests. "What do you like to read about? You could also ask the librarian where to go."

Emerald seems to be levitating in the middle of it all, eyes glowing as books fly back onto the shelves and ripped pages get replaced midair, almost resembling a telekinetic circus.

"Yeah, or if something was troubling her. Every time we asked she was fine, though."

 

"Oh. Well, she's fine. As far as I know."

 

"We're on the same page, then."
Pause.
"You done playing with alchemicals?"

 

"Yeah, I'm done."
Crystal resurfaces the vial onto his hand.
"Should I clean this out?"

 

"Drop it into the gel. It's normal glass, super easy to replace."

 

"Okay."
Crystal walks over to the cauldron, dropping the vial in.

 

It breaks down into the gel, the cauldron letting off a bigger bubble probably an indication it's gone.

 

"Weird stuff..."
Crystal mutters.

 

"Funny thing is it doesn't mess with biological stuff. Still makes a mess if it gets out of the cauldron, though."

 

"Wouldn't it just like... sink forever if it got out of the cauldron? And how's it not melting the cauldron in the first place?"

 

"It would make a huge mess and, if not cleaned up, yes it would eat its way to the planet's core. As for the cauldron, surprise surprise - it's made of a living metal, thus the gel recognizes it as something biological."

 

"Huh. Sounds cool."
