Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"That must really get boring, then...
...What do you do when you're alone?"

 

"I-I'm not sure." April says, worried.

 

"Shift, use magic, play around. I tried to find my island once, so I guess I did that alone."

 

"I suppose fear is an appropriate reaction to a dragon, but... actually, if you were able to talk to him, would you be able to trust him more?" Alice asks, glancing over as Sgavrinn starts rubbing his back against the ground.

"...How long do you think that'll keep you entertained? You're technically ageless..."

 

"I-I don't know..." April says, worried.

 

"...I dunno, but I'm learning new stuff. I don't really know if I know what I can do."

 

"Just try and remember, he's as scared of you as you are him."

"You study too?"

 

"Some animals can lash out when they're scared, especially dragons." The blond haired teenager says nervously.

 

"He's had his claws trimmed, and he doesn't breathe fire."

 

"I-I'm not sure if I can r-ride him." April says nervously.

 

"At least tell him why you don't want to so he doesn't refuse to eat when he gets back home." Alice sighs.

 

"I-I'm just nervous I'll fall off, or he'll try and hurt me." April says.

"Yeah, Gail always makes sure the skyrail is safe. She's flown to rescue people the few times it's stopped mid-journey." The blond haired teenager says.

 

"Don't tell me, go up and tell hi-"
A shaky portal opens nearby, Rineth stepping halfway through.
"Alice, am I interrupting something?"
"Yes, but it wasn't going well anyways."
Rineth glances at the two teenagers.
"What, are they scared of Sgavrinn?"
"Yes, actually..."
Rineth can't help but grin.
"Ah, give the humans a break. I just wanted to know Mistress Xlentia wanted to talk to you."
"Ah, crap... I'll head over tonight."
"I'll let her know." Rineth says, leaving.

 

April faints, while the blond haired teenager glances at her for a moment before running away, terrified.

 

Alice cushions her fall, having Sgavrinn tote her up to the center of town as she looks for Louis.

 

Louis doesn't appear to be in town, though a few people seem to be rather freaked out by Alice taking a dragon into town.

 

Alice heads down to Gail's hut, Sgavrinn leaving Alice in a vine-shaded bed of flowers.

 

Gail appears to be out, her curtains open but nobody inside her hut.

 

Alice sighs, heading back home with Sgavrinn.

 

There's a small sprout of something growing near Alice's home. It seems to be rather young, though it doesn't look like anything edible.
