Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

It's like looking off a mountain peak.

"That view alone was worth paying over list price in my opinion."

She sits against the wall.

 

I go towards the portal room, re-looking over my options of portals.

 

"I'd say so." Shadow Stephanie says, looking down where the water is flowing, curious.

 

"I paid 90 diamond for this. Tax isn't too bad, either."

Five open. Xyrnal, Entelp, Maralune, Asimuul, and the unnamed portal on top.

 

I go through the unnamed portal, looking around to see what's around.

 

"Wow, that's a killer deal." Shadow Stephanie says, seeming a little distracted.

"Can you excuse me for a moment?" Shadow Stephanie asks, heading to the front door.

 

"Yeah, notice something needing repaired?" Alice asks, unsure.

It's your homeworld, the ruins of Gargantuan off to the side and the floating islands of Brisingr now stable.

 

I look around to see if there might be any spots for food.

 

"No, just something suspicious." Shadow Stephanie says, heading out the house and jumping off the cliffside where the stream turns into a small waterfall.

 

Alice follows, curious.

There's some wildlife around, so it wouldn't be a bad place to leave her.

 

I fly upwards, checking if the wildlife is scarce, plentiful, or somewhere in between.

 

There appears to be a larger platform below Alice's house where the stream leads, forming a medium sized pond. Shadow Stephanie appears to be investigating the pond, looking into a small cave that lies under Alice's house.

There seems to be some stairs cut into the cliffside that Alice can take.

 

Alice runs down, also checking the cave.
"Might have been too good to be true..." She mutters, forming one of her hands into larger claws.

It's fairly scarce.

 

"Don't worry, your house won't fall in. I just could've sworn there was someone down here." Shadow Stephanie says, looking into the water. A piece of green algae floats along the surface, eventually coming to the end of the pond and being carried off further.

Shadow Stephanie seems to notice something on the ground, reaching down and pulling a fully grown parsnip out of the ground.

"Huh, I guess the last guy who lived here tried some farming." Shadow Stephanie says, holding up the parsnip before washing the dirt off in the pond.

 

Alice checks the spirit plane.

"Could be related to the note. I saw some ghostly figures and a couple fairies in the ruins of the building it was in. Maybe you saw one too?"

 

Nothing on the spiritual plane, though Alice does notice a few bats in the cave under her house.

"No, I think there was a person down here." Shadow Stephanie says, looking into the water some more, before looking over the steep drop off the mountainside.

 

She doesn't mind the bats.
"A person, or a body?" She asks, also looking over the drop.

 

"They were alive. Maybe I was just seeing things though." Shadow Stephanie says, turning her attention to some of the vegetables planted near the pond.

 

I go back through the portal, entering the one to Asimuul, and looking around.

 

"I'll ask the mayor about this later."

The field is small and bare, but the forest has plenty of wildlife.
