Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Yes, though the tournament is not due for another couple of weeks."

 

"Where is it being held? I will wait there."

 

"The old arena." The guard says, pointing away from the palace. In the distance, what looks like a large colosseum can just about be seen across the city.

 

Peridot walks over there, opting to walk on air over the city to take a direct line.

 

It's a surprisingly long walk, but he gets there eventually.

There seems to be a small group of people on one side of the arena, watching a pair of earth guardians fighting each other with swords.

 

Peridot opts to watch as well, remaining silent.

 

The earth guardians appear to be incredibly skilled, both of them rarely landing a hit as they dodge each other's attacks.

 

Peridot waits for a victor to emerge.

 

It takes quite a while, but eventually one of the earth guardians throws down his sword.

"Enough. You've won this battle." The earth guardian says, wounded.

The group cheers for the victorious earth guardian, who raises her arms in victory.

 

Peridot remains silent, scanning the wounds of each.

 

The losing earth guardian most notably appears to have a stab wound that pierced his armour and pierced his flesh, almost hitting his lung. The victor has various scratches and stabs, but none too deep.

 

He opts to wait and see if any other duels take place, or if anyone questions his presence.

 

Nobody seems to have really noticed Peridot, though there appears to be a couple of guardian children playing a game further along in the arena.

 

He observes the game, letting himself fall dormant afterwards.

 

The children appear to be a water and air guardian, both of them rolling six different dice. The water guardian freezes her dice in ice, spinning them around to roll them before thawing them out, while the air guardian rolls his with small gusts of wind, lifting them off the ground slightly. They appear to be counting how many recurring numbers or ascending numbers they get, the victor being the one with the best chosen dice.

 

He falls dormant on the edge of the arena.


Alice returns to her home in the Shadow Palace.
"Were you able to check what was available on Earth?" She asks a guard as she enters.

 

"Yes, though the market is quite...limited." The guard says.

 

"How so?" She asks, making tea.

 

"A lot of people don't really want a Shadow living among them. Fear, mainly." The guard says.

 

"I expected that. Did you find any willing sellers?"
