Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

It's long since fallen into ruins, a tattered flag that's faded to bleach white laying half-buried in the dirt.

There seems to be a functioning village with very few people further inside the expansive crumbled wall, and a forest a bit to the northwest.

 

I head toward the village, keeping an eye out for any wild animals along the way.

 

There's just a rabbit that flees.


Many people glance at you, but most just wave before going back to their own thing. However, a child decides to approach you.
"Hello, welcome to... uh... home." She says.

 

"Hello there, little one." I say, smiling.

 

Her mother soon approaches.
"Hello... you're not here for tributes, are you?" She asks, uneasy.

 

"No, I'm actually looking for someone, and I was directed to this place." I say.

 

"Oh? Not many people pass through here. Who are you looking for?"

 

"A draconian called Ragnyon. Apparently she was taken here." I say.

 

"The goddess' reincarnation? Yes, she hid herself away in a dungeon."

 

"Could you direct me to that dungeon?" I ask.

 

"She went off on her own, said she was running from some reaper lady. It should be in the ruins of the royal palace."

 

"Where could I find that?" I ask.

 

"Follow the white rose gardens. That should give you a breadcrumb trail to the royal gardens, which of course means you're at the remains of the palace."

 

"Alright, thank you." I say, looking for any white roses.

 

You can't see any on the ground, but you can see a broken greenhouse past the village and an interior (broken) wall.

 

I decide to head to the greenhouse, looking around it once I reach it.

 

A few pots intact and broken have some white roses, the broken pots obviously containing now withered flowers.
It seems the white rose had some cultural significance in this kingdom.

From the broken doorway, you can see another patch of white roses off to the northeast.

 

I decide to head to the next patch of white roses, looking for more patches once I reach it.

 

Each patch seems to lead to another in sight, and after twenty minutes of navigating ruins, you encounter what seems to be a much more thorough covering of bricks along the ground, as well as a huge garden filled with the same white roses, along with a few other flowers that have since grown out of arrangement.

 

I try to decipher where the ruins of the palace start, and where to look for dungeons.
