Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Hah, Ruby's stupider than me. Or...is on my level of stupidity." I say happily.

"I hate that bitch." Shadow Stephanie says bitterly, getting up.

 

"Okay. Do your thing."

I finally go to the last one, checking if there's anything by sight.

 

"Okay... note. Clearly you didn't get it. I thought leaving it where it was hard to miss would get you to read it." Amber sighs.

Linoa scans a claw around, eyes glowing a bit as she sweeps her arm side to side.
"Hey... there's a village in there."

Still nothing visible. Webs, webs, webs. Even webs in the trees, now. Still nothing there either, though.

 

"Woah. Anything that's making the storm?"

Disappointed, I find my way out of the forest by foot.

 

"We have stuff to do...so..." I say.

 

"Kidding. I literally watched you read it." Amber giggles. "I just realized I forgot to sign it, and you had it when I returned to fix it."

"Still working on it... but it's totally calm in there."

Too many webs, you seem to have gone deeper instead.
...conveniently, you finally see something in the webs that isn't a web!

...unfortunately, it's just a piece of bloody flesh.

 

"Oh. So, it's like a storm ring?"

I stop walking, checking if anything on the ground below me is flammable.

 

"Am I...are you seeing this?" I ask Artemis and Shadow Stephanie.

"I'm just as confused as you are, which is worrying." Shadow Stephanie says.

"Do we know you?" Artemis asks.

 

"Yeah, like a protective barrier."

It'd be a good idea to get to a clearing. Every tree seems like it would only take a spark...

"Aj might. He brought me into the medical ward, though he didn't find me trying to lighten my pain amusing. The rest of you? Well... I can guess queen, queen's form, and girlfriend from whatever just went down."

 

"Any way past?"

I walk around more, trying to find one.

 

"Not that I can find." Linoa complains, opting to just circle the storm.

There's sort of a clearing, with a bunch of stumps left in an area. Minimal risk of setting everything ablaze.

 

"I've brought a lot of people into the medical ward." I say flatly.

 

"You haven't personally brought anyone else who's survived any part of Ruby's onslaught into the medical ward." She says. "At least, nobody with any life force left."

 

"Were...you the one that I tried to save and then Ruby killed again?" I ask, starting to remember.

 

"Yes... except something went wrong." She says, hesitating. "Know how there's two parts to each of our curses? Well... one part decided it should completely override the other."
Pause.
"Your girlfriend may notice, if she tries to use her magic on me once more."

 

Artemis looks at me, unsure, and I nod.

Artemis surrounds Amber in vines, trying to heal her.

 

Her body completely disintegrates, the blood and flesh reforming as it seeps outside of the vines.
"For whatever reason, I'm undead." She says, using her lance as a guide to reconstruct her body.

 

Artemis taps her necklace, before surrounding Amber in thorns, sucking the life out of her with death magic, attempting to 'heal' her.

 

That speeds up her reformation, scales visibly hardening.
"Thanks." She mumbles, readjusting. "Anyhow, I woke up in a bunch of dirt and dug my way out. Scared the wits out of someone paying their respects to some other dead person. Figured I'd leave because a few guards sweeped the area looking for me. Left you a note and all that jazz."

 

"Do you care about one of your sister's who's headless being killed?" Shadow Stephanie asks.
