"Where would you keep this if you were travelling?"

I do as I said I would, and trail them.

 

"Point is, which do you deem more gutsy... hiding in you while you go about things behind closed doors, or empowering your form?"

"I'd keep it in a pocket dimension or sling it over my shoulder along with a quiver."

 

"Hiding in me while I go about things behind closed doors. That's an offence that would normally give you a death sentence." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"Wouldn't it burn something, though?"

 

"That makes seventy three if you pardon it." Alice says, guards opening the gates to the Spire.

"I dunno."

 

Crystal puts down the bow, reaching for another.

 

"I can't keep doing this, Alice. Eventually people are going to find out and start rioting that you've been pardoned for every crime in the damn realm's universe." Shadow Stephanie says.

"Didn't he say around the back of the spire?" Artemis asks me.

"Maybe there's a back door?" I say, shrugging as the group enters.

 

"Oh dear, whatever shall I do? Beg, grovel...? oh wait, I'm not the only one." She giggles.

The group's in the courtyard, so take your pick of windowless walls.

This one crackles with electricity.

 

Putting it down, Crystal reaches for a non-elemental bow.

 

The group heads toward the far end of the courtyard.

"Don't push your luck." Shadow Stephanie warns sternly.

 

The last one seems to be a double bow.

"Oh, boo! Throwing the only criminal of my degree who's done anything to warrant a pardon under the bus? How much do those bastards pay you?"

The cloaked person seems to be there.
"What's with the crowd?"

 

Loading it, Crystal tries aiming it and shooting at a target.

 

Shadow Stephanie just remains silent.


"Friends, they won't bother us though." I say, turning and shooing the group away, Stephanie and her darker form leaving.

I seem to be gesturing for you to leave, though Stephanie and Shadow Stephanie just seem to be going out of sight.

 

It seems to be more of a crossbow, again piercing the target.

 

I nod, following the two of them.

Crystal puts the bow down.
"Well, that's it for the bows?"

 

"So, the relic, eh? It's a few miles in the forest outside the city, but there's more. Area's guarded by some headless freak, and I reckon the red glint on its web is the relic."

Sitting, Crystal looks at the bows and thinks.
"I could help you put these back."

 

"So some headless horseman type guy has the relic and is guarding it? Shouldn't be too hard to kill." I say.

 

"Thanks, that'd be really helpful." Linoa says, smiling as she gathers the elemental bows.

 

Crystal shifts into a puddle-like form, moving along and scooping up bows.
