Damn 21 skill point nerf to EVERY single piece of hive gear... That ruins so many builds lol and not even rainbow or tank builds. Half the time gaea hewn boots are used because warchiefs are so awful right now, so now gaea wont even be a suitable replacement :/

 

It does affect rainbow tank builds because they have to find 35 more SP to use hive chestplate and boots. It also doesn't really affect much other builds. Shove a skill point accessory or a vaward/stardust in somewhere and you're fine.

 

It doesn't; just use a 39/39/40/40/40 skill point split, wear a prism or something and voila

 

And that's using what, all hive armour?

Because that's not the best current rainbow tank. That would be something like:

That's still a significant nerf. Pre-change it would have had 44 free skill points. Now it only has 9 assuming 100% perfect IDs which almost definitely won't happen.

 

Still, it's not going to kill the tank meta in any significant way

I don't get why everyone is assuming that Selvut isn't going to touch other pieces of the "meta build". Hell, I think that the small nerf to the Hive armors is because Hive Armor is really not that bad, yeah, they're powerful, but, they're sort of meant to be extremely powerful tri-elemental items, it's when you combine them with other items is where they actually become OP, Selvut was just trying to nullify that OP synergy a little bit without touching the items themselves.

Hive Armor, along with pretty much all items, are all simplified bitches except Cataclysm compared to the motherfucking supreme overlord god king emperor of the meta that is titled MORPH-FUCKING-STARDUST.

 

the thing with this nerf is that the items are MEANT to be op but not only that but honestly they are not truly broken as the tend to cancel each other out. I personally feel items on wynn get nerfed too soon not allowing for people to counter the items in the build meta. multi hive armor builds are not by any means too strong compared to many other builds such as apoc/ignition, cancer abuse and other stuff like that. now yes hive armors are used in these builds like jacky's cancer build they are not the main cause of the problem of imbalance and honestly that build is not even imbalanced...

 

Except the Hive armor itself wasn't touched, only the synergy between Hive armor and other items were nullified a bit.

Though this is a very need nerf, people will find a way to still use multiple Hive items and still be OP, just not as much as before.

I think a lot of users would also appreciate if you stopped armor from popping off in the first place and just spam the chat like the missing texture pack notification or unused skill points. Make the armor/accessory effects not active until they have the needed skill points. If you're going to make changes such as these with just a measly thread update to an already old post you should post an actual notification in game or RATHER create a system that doesn't cause loss of items. Some players are either too young to use the forums or don't use it in general. Updates shouldn't cause grief to your community via bugs you're well aware need to be fixed and in my personal opinion it shows a lack of care for your player base.
